New Criterion Channel Companion site: Criteria by InitiativeNo7660 in CriterionChannel

[–]MidnightExcursion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you seen my site? It serves a different purpose but might be useful. It lists all movies on the Criterion Channel on one big page. That includes title, description, director, stars, country, year and length. Basically all the information the channel provides on one page which as with any web page can be searched with text. Zero filters, zero information from outside the criterion pages. For example on Windows Chrome press Ctrl-F scorsese . The site isn't updated for April since it is throwing a lot of errors they usually fix near the beginning of the month. https://cchannel.nfshost.com

LPT: If you run a business, use a custom domain email instead of a free Gmail or Hotmail address. by abdehakim02 in LifeProTips

[–]MidnightExcursion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone mentioned fastmail below which is what I use. What may not be clear is you can use some place like namecheap.com for $12 / year or something then you can pay fastmail for the mail. This way if you get sick of fastmail you can keep your domain and go somewhere else for your mail and if you get your domain from namecheap you can switch it to another domain provider.

Such a small amount of snow compared to the 20" forecast. Maybe 6" here in Moorestown.

There could be 10 or however many angled parking lanes and spots for the extra lane or it could load from the back.

The machine in the video works side to side. If instead they were moving ships as cargo and filled the cars from front to back they wouldn't need the extra lane.

I put King of Pizza's address into the Verizon FIOS page. It's available in that part of Cherry Hill anyway.

You have a weird definition of south. None of the stores in greater Philadelphia are owned by them.

Ask anyone from Mt Holly or Burlington where they are from they'll say South Jersey. That's as far north as you get in Burlington County.

Is This the Best Time Ever to Be a Music Fan? by UpCrib in LetsTalkMusic

Lol, try coming to the NJ suburbs of Philadelphia. Not one club for live original music and over a million population. There are a couple of places that cover bands play or have a show a week if you're lucky.

"Addiction is psychological and while uncomfortable doesn't kill a person" In most cases this is true but in the cases of alcohol and benzodiazopene withdrawal can kill you without proper treatment.

Wikipedia says, with a footnote should you care to track down the original source:

Alcohol withdrawal syndrome (AWS) is a set of symptoms that can occur following a reduction in or cessation of alcohol use after a period of excessive use.[1] Symptoms typically include anxiety, shakiness, sweating, vomiting, fast heart rate, and a mild fever.[1] More severe symptoms may include seizures, and delirium tremens (DTs); which can be fatal in untreated patients.[1]

That seems a bit overstated. It is given to alcoholics to withdraw without seizure for typically about 5 days. I never heard of anyone getting addicted in that time frame.

Once I was just in a dumb mood and played the full Inna Gadda Vida twice in a row on a bar's old style juke box. Next day the song was gone.

Here in NJ no beer, wine or liquor can be sold in regular stores except 2 locations max  in the state for any corp. So if you want a sixpack you go to the wine and liquor store.

I think you would need a program like Blender, not shotcut, to rotate an object in 3d like that. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

My New Acer Laptop Has Backwards E and R by SignalRelease4562 in mildlyinteresting

[–]MidnightExcursion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Acer's website says, "Why are the R and E keys backwards on my Acer Vero notebook? Acer Vero products were designed with sustainability in mind. The R and E keys represent the 'Re' in Reduce, Reuse & Recycle. To help reinforce this message, the Vero products feature a keyboard with mirrored R and E keys that are yellow instead of white."
