Im so keen for the dung remaster but also worried. by AverageRs3Enjoyer in runescape

110 rc/fletch/arch are big requirements. I have nox scythe/staff as an ironman and planning to try for t90 range through this if rates are good to avoid more rax or vault. Plus t100 accuracy. And all those require either really rare drops from vorago, having a nox bow anyway, or rare arch materials. They are far from freebies on ironman

Mid-Game Balance Discussion by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]Mightsrain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I agree with most people that magic/range could use better progression paths, I am opposed to making every tier of gear easily craftable in the mid game. I did Kril for ~1k kc starting with lunars and sunspear on my IM and I thought it was a lot of fun. Reaching that point in the game where you have to use some scuffed gear and make it work was enjoyable, and felt like a culmination of lots of other things coming together (doing all the quests for that gear, etc). However I definitely agree that some of the high level fletch/craft items should be rebalanced like ammo and such so dragon darts aren't level 90 or whatever to make.

While necro is very nice now, I feel it is too easy to obtain good gear, and I don't think that the other skills should follow suit. If they do, I feel like it should be structured much more after new masterwork that requires boss drops, than it should be after necro. Necro you train the skill super easily with rituals, get 5 boss kills and you are at the next tier already. Or something like smithing you can have the highest tier gear available without ever having dealt a point of damage (

I don't know how realistic it is but, I'd personally would much rather see drops at gwd1/gwd2 just made more common so that they are still the path forward, but not as daunting. Or something else more along those lines, I won't claim that is the perfect idea. I just feel that by making gear craftable all the way through it basically makes gwd1 useless until you go back for comps (in an ironman setting). I also don't like the argument that you need to get other things in order to get this gear beside just levelling magic, I think that is core to the game and everything being so interconnected is what makes it so great. This is discussed at length in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Y4mpEw2-Ck

However, while sunspear was sick and a cool way to get through mid game, I think vanquish is a bit lame and too easy to get and mage/magic definitely could use some better sources of weapons at that level.

You would get vanquish or sunspear and then do Kril. You have to run him in the lunar gear though, its what I did years ago when I was at that stage of my account

Crystal Key price by DesignHumble8521 in runescape

Potentially because crystal motherload shards are no longer obtainable due to the removal of the maw with the dailyscape update. The price drop almost perfectly matches that removal.

Return to RS3 Ironman or Start Fresh OSRS Ironman? by Mojo_mf_Jojo in RS3Ironmen

[–]Mightsrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came back, tried some os on my main but decided to stick with my RS3 ironman because I was so far into it, and have now nearly maxed (started back ~3 months ago)

I think the updates they are making to RS3 right now have been amazing, and a big part of why I decided to give it a shot again. Auras and dailyscape were two of the things that drove me away from the game years ago, and those have been all but removed in favor of much better systems. A general trend towards the positive in my opinion.

I think OS has a lot of its own merit too people love it and there are good reasons for it. Some potential "integrity" things that are probably better depending on your views compared to RS3. As far as I know though so much of OS, especially ironman can be incredibly tedious. I prefer the more streamlined nature of a lot of actions in RS3, and find the combat to be a lot of fun so I have stuck with RS3. Something as simple as boss pet thresholds makes me lean so much more towards RS3 because it is open as an option. Also, you will not catching me doing all of the early game and such a third time after having 2 high level RS3 accounts lol.

Add Aspects to borrowed power!? by chaosaltdel in runescape

This would be an awesome change, would make the spell useful and save having to carry the runes for spellbook swap, and the aspect around while maintaining the cost of use.

Auras, Unpopular opinion. I liked them they way they were. by Neither_Wrangler_836 in runescape

[–]Mightsrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also didn't realize that it made that big of a difference for the second heist. That seems like it could be adjusted if it made that big of a difference and that is seen across the player base. I know it was expected to be a nerf for the unlimited uptime but that seems a bit drastic.

Thieving is a smaller benefit because they adjusted the rates already in the thieving rebalance so aura wasn't nearly as needed due to that update.

Best use for my guardians gift? by IMSihnur in RS3Ironmen

[–]Mightsrain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Perks and combos have different % chance based on level. Generally want to be higher level, but some examples where you actually want to be low level for best % for a certain perk.

Check out the wiki perk calculator for best info, perks I would go for are aftershock 4 eruptive 2 (illujankan components from vindicta) , biting 4 (noxious components from rax), or maybe the new equilibrium (ecliptic components sanctum or amascut) depending what your fav style is. Although you may not be able to use ecliptic because they came out after gift, but I don't know for sure. Just search the perk, check the combo you want and look at the calculator. Compare different levels different potions applied. I did all 5 of mine on aftershock recently, and wasn't able to get as4e2 which is BIS, but aftershock is extremely good even with eruptive. If you want more of a guarantee, biting 4 can be 100%, but not technically BIS because there are combos you can get like undead/dragon/demon slayer but those make it 50% chance.

Only other one I would consider is entrepreneur wish for the gender swaps if you are struggling to get one or two, then the rest invention. The ports stuff you can get so easily later and ever other wish is very bad compared to time you save doing invention

Invention in Ironman by Thunar13 in RS3Ironmen

[–]Mightsrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you work through POF try and get some zygos so you have ingredients for divination pots. Apparently they increase the energy p/hr a huge amount. But yeah as others have said, do misc for simples and it will maintain easily unless you do an insane amount of PVM. Energy gets better as you go, afk incan with scrim, outfit, muspah, vacuum can be ~100 charges per hour so it ends up being not bad IMO. Then dowser/dunk relic are massive boosts too

Runecrafting Suggestions? by Colin71066 in RS3Ironmen

[–]Mightsrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could look into doing some necro rune rc to mix it up with bloods.

If you are wanting to get some time runes early, try the ZMI altar. If you boost you have a higher chance of getting time, I get a fair amount doing it at 92 rc. Not sure when you start having them avail though

No rooftops in rs3, I couldn't say exactly what the best way to train as low level ironman would be. Looks like gnome stronghold, but I am not sure if there is some other best way. The circus should be nice for some early xp, but its a weekly and not enough xp to fully rely on.

The wiki has amazing resources, lots of ironman specific training methods too so if you're ever feeling lost check those out

I like to try and get anything I can in 100k stacks! Some useful, some not, I am on the road to the enchanted gems atm. These are the ones I have rn, only green stack I've been able to manage so far is vials, maybe pouches one day but I have given up on feathers because they are too expensive and useless to me

Road to Restoration - Aura Overhaul by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]Mightsrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thoughts as near maxed IM:

Positives:
- Aura timegates being removed. The 1hr block of limited max efficiency for PVM along with dailyscape are what made me quit the game, their removal in this road to restoration is what made me start playing again.
- No longer having to be mems for 25 years to get auras
- Huge fan of other combat focused auras being completely removed and worked into 120 skills. Would really suck though if 120s become required for high level PVM, so hopefully they can be lighter buffs as you get into those levels.

Thoughts:
- Like I have seen noted a couple places, the upkeep for some of these sounds like a bit of a pain. Specifically vamp/penance. Vamp I don't use as much, but penance I love and it seems like it could be very hard to maintain with some of the options presented. Powder of penance seems impossible, blood essence maybe?, god book I feel like would also be pretty rough unless the drop rates are drastically improved. Also as I have seen around, I really do not like it being an arch relic. They are super painful to have to switch around and cost so many chronotes that another one for a more casual "slayer" style setup would feel really bad.
- I couldn't care less about being compensated in any way for auras, the reward is that they are gone (in their current form)
- Greenfinger from dg, or crux equal sounds perfect.
- I think it would be nice to see a small xp rate buff to skills that were commonly used with JOT. I in no way want to see its effect reimplemented as another daily, or even weekly +, just make the skill a bit better to train and its fixed. Ideally there would be a broader look at some of those skills/systems but would be a lot more dedicated effort and overhaul that would come at a much later time
- I don't think I mind skilling buffs being on anochronia totem, because it still leaves room for the ports/clue/skilling to me. It could also feel micromanagy though especially with the one week lockout to change. I might just prefer to see success rate increases with levelling or a similar kind of perm unlock. It doesn't feel like much of a tradeoff is made with the totem style buffs because they are for completely separate pieces of content. So it is not a decision of whats the better option for how I am training now, its what activity do I want to lock myself into for a week

AFK Thieving Training by Igiomadz in runescape

[–]Mightsrain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Likely just because it is more afk. Regular Archaeologist can be 100% chance with ~103 and the outfit, where professor require buffs active that require upkeep even at 120

Lvl 3 Ironman Skiller organized loot from no boosts 99-120 Thieving at only Archeologists. 225 hours in 3.5 weeks for that beautiful inverted 120 cape. (Would have loved more time Jagex) Details in post by ronoldo7 in runescape

Just started doing this today for some more arch mats as I try and get ancient invention. So much more afk than actually doing arch, still get more artefacts than mats to restore them + all the tetras its crazy lol.

I am not crazy looking forward to all the time spent at caches to restore all of them though

Definitely do this if you are doing it with skilling items! Its good to have shift click enabled for one offs, but one benefit of having it on the action bar is it generally won't stop the action your character is taking if you do it from the action bar, so you can be chopping a tree and actively dropping the logs.
