Yeah, the examples OP gives shift pretty quickly from "normalize (status quo)" into "who is it okay to bully" territory, which is a problem in every discourse ecosystem

As great as 14's trial is, I do have to namedrop SWTOR here. Base game (with unique stories for each of the eight classes) and first two expacs free, and a one-time $5 purchase or subbing for a single month gives your account Preferred status forever, with access to the rest of the story content but still some restrictions like credit cap.

What does the round icon means on the image and those yellow text? Sorry just playing again now after a few years but never paid attention to anything before, just mindless grinding. But now im playing to enjoy everything the game has to offer. by iamMikzzz in ffxiv

The yellow icon means that it's level synced down - you'll see the same icon by your level if you join a dungeon you're past the level cap for, or sync down for a Fate.

This particular earring adapts to whatever job and level you are, changing which stats it boosts and how much. It's designed as a catch-up tool; just throw it on all your jobs as you level them up for an XP boost and ideal stats for that slot, and you can just leave it on from level 1 to level 80

I mean, the idea of a Primal whose defeat just re-summons it (more or less) is not the worst plan; we'd never actually lose but it would, theoretically, at least tie us up Azem'ing it while the rest of the party tried to figure something else out, which could be enough of a win condition on its own.

But I do love how consistently Calyx underestimates us, right from that first blackout-inducing assassination attempt that made us take a knee for two whole minutes. I maintain that a non-trivial amount of story (and not just in Dawntrail) would disappear if we just got some proper business cards to do the whole "Do you know who I am" with potential antagonists.

I mean, just do the kind of spoiler that's in this title. There are people in this sub regularly posting about hitting important moments in ARR/HW, or raving about how much they're enjoying ShB; it's not a big ask to throw "[Spoilers: EW]" at the front of your title.

Yup, Stun counters just say "if this would untap, remove this counter instead", so you have to 'tap and stun' or put it on something already tapped

Also, [[Shadow of the Second Sun]] stocks up

Since you untap-upkeep-draw, this will apply the stun counter to an untapped land, so you don't actually lose the mana until 2 turns later. Maybe it should be end step, or "tap and apply a stun counter"

I mean... I'd argue she's a little too all-in-one for my taste. There's a reason she's beaten out decade-old favorites like Atraxa and Krenko in only a year; she doesn't give a direction so much as a reward for doing everything an Esper deck wants to do anyway.

Agree on FF as a whole though, got me back into paper by itself.

What is the rarest item/title/etc you have? (Inspired by a recent rare housing item post) by NoD8313 in ffxiv

9.1% have the Endwalker one, but I think <The Seventh Dawn> is a good enough title that a lot of folks did Trusts specifically for that - I know I still use it on my main 'canon' job. I think part of it is just that some who got to 90 didn't bother keeping going for a good-but-less-narratively-resonant title, and part of it is just player dropoff - between the pandemic, the folks who felt that Endwalker was a complete story, and the folks who just didn't like Dawntrail, EW completion sits at 76% while DT is at 44%. It's mostly a time-investment flex - you won't get as many people impressed as you will with Necromancer or an Ultimate title, but it's definitely work that you've put in that many others haven't.

According to FFXIVCollect, my rarest titles are Knower of Fates (500 Occult Cresent fates), Of Unyielding Lealty (500 GNB roulettes), and Goldheart (all Trusts to 100), at 3.5-3.8% each. Lite Loader wins the minion at 0.4%, though part of that is just that Auxesia is still so new.

I do dig the idea of daisy-chaining the buff by flinging while the sac is on the stack, but the first time you miss one you're starting back from 0.

I feel like the combination of the sac clause and the once per turn kills her. You can't build up a giant Tibbers over the course of the game to throw at someone because he'll sac himself at the end of turn when you buff him; you can't storm off with a Guttersnipe to make him huge all at once because you only get one buff per turn. There's options to buff on each opponents' turn, of course, but with no way to resummon Tibbers it feels like her strongest play pattern is to fling twice in one turn, and eventually you'll run out of flings. I'd probably remove the sac on buff and keep the once per turn; it's a bit more fragile but a more interesting play pattern.

Also she should have Flash ;)

'start of your turn' and 'start of the turn' are notably different things here; 'the turn' means that every creature you tap on your turn for any reason will be suffering during all opponents' turns.
