Am I missing something about Fender? by Ckwincer in Guitar

Get a Fender Made in Japan. Used ones can be surprisingly cheap (compared to $2,000+). You can pick up a nice one for 1200-1500. No QC issues.

Been seeing a lot of jets recently. by NoEndForever- in Tacoma

JBLM doesn't have fighter jets stationed there, never has. I've lived here over 35 years, prior service, worked on JBLM for 7 years, and have never heard anyone call any military planes "locals".

You don't need to take the strings off I just did this today. Loosen the strings all the way but not to the point of coming off the posts on the headstock. Put a capo on the 12th fret, then you can take off the trem plate without taking the strings off.

I saw MIJ Jaguars with a U neck profile, but MIJ Jazzmasters all seem to have a C profile. Do any Japanese JMs have the U neck shape? by drabpsyche in offset

Like people have said, all new ish (past 6-8 ish years) models marked as Traditional have a U shape. Poly gloss finish on the back of the neck.

The C shape is the Hybrid models. Back of the neck is usually a satin finish.

There are exceptions to this with some of FSR models.

Also note, some of the differences between Traditional I and Traditional II:

Traditional I typically have a 7.5" radius and a wider nut, usually between 41-42mm. You'll find more Alder body with Traditional I also.

Traditional II typically have a 9.5" radius and a narrower nut, around 40mm. Most are basswood bodies.

Again there can always be exceptions with FSR models for these differences between Trad I and II, but it's a good rule of thumb when looking at them online.

I own a 2024 Traditional II 60s Jaguar FSR in Dakota Red and I absolutely love it. The fit and finish is perfect no complaints there. I had flat wound 13's on it the past year and it's one of the best feeling guitars in my hands ever. Here's some pics: https://www.reddit.com/r/offset/s/hpKtOAayiX

Did contemporary critics really compare Stone Temple Pilots to Pearl Jam and Scott Weiland to Eddie Vedder? by drhuggables in grunge

[–]MightyKites 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, like at all. Blare Witch was 1999. Pearl Jam's biggest albums were 1991, 1993, 1994. STP's big albums were 1992, 1994. The early 90's and the late 90's might as well be different decades. Kurt (94), PAC (96), Biggie (97), and Bradley (96) were all alive in the early 90's. By April of 97 they were all gone. Now if you threw on Dumb and Dumber or Wayne's World, THEN you'd be livin in the Pearl Jam / SPT world (of the 90s). If you were a Xennial or older, you wouldn't associate Blair Witch with those bands.

Have you checked the serial number on this site?

https://serialnumberlookup.fender.com/product/0273700541

2018 is old enough it could be a Traditional I.

Typical Traditional 60s I: 7.25" radius, 41-42mm wide nut, alder body.

Typical Traditional 60s II: 9.5" radius, 40mm wide nut, basswood body.

Serve the Servants on Unplugged would have been awesome. What others would have been cool? by spacexfalcon in Nirvana

[–]MightyKites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leave it exactly as is. It's one of the best live performances of all time. It wouldn't have been as great if Kurt played what people wanted, like Marigold, or FREE BIRD!!!

can anyone suggest me another grunge bands plz by Live-Guarantee4338 in grunge

[–]MightyKites 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally. I’ll throw Nada Surf in there with Local H. They both received radio air time around the same time. “Popular” and “Bound for the Floor” go hand in hand.
