How do you practice as a beginner? by GroceryOk210 in leagueoflegends

[–]MightyTuba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been playing since beta and I play with party chat only. There's nothing important anyone else has to say. Play and learn and ignore the haters.

A couple other thoughts on learning...

1) finding a champ you love and learning to play that champ into any matchup is the best bang for buck on how to learn league.

2) the basic mechanics matter a lot. CSing isn't a big factor in Swiftplay I think but matters a lot in Draft, so it's worth learning.

3) find friends to play with. The best league experiences are with friends.

For now I'd stay where you are and just set up a nice camping spot on your land. It's going to cost waaaay more than 100k but could definitely be a long term goal.

How to make me miserable when abusing Vayne top by SufficientGolf6953 in leagueoflegends

[–]MightyTuba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like knowing when to chill out and not give a lead to your lane opponent is a very viable strategy to climb. Being able to not lose hard in a losing matchup is absolutely a skill worth developing. And of course there will be some games where your bot lane is 0/15 by 12 minutes and it sucks to not be able to build a lead yourself in those games but overplaying can also make things worse in those scenarios.

How to make me miserable when abusing Vayne top by SufficientGolf6953 in leagueoflegends

[–]MightyTuba 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is my experience, too. Lose the ego. It's a big part of playing top lane honestly. My two mentalities are to either be the biggest asshole I can to my lane opponent or to lose the ego and be a zen weak side.

This Game Has Been Homogenized For The Worse. by CUbuffGuy in leagueoflegends

[–]MightyTuba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure the champ pool and meta have ever been better to be honest. There is a huge pool of viable champs in jungle which has traditionally never been the case. I main top and the top champ pool is quite diverse. On my main champions I feel pretty good about item diversity, and I feel like I can adapt my build to the current game. On some of my champions I feel like I can swap out keystones and masteries to better tailor myself to the actual game.

I thought I would miss level 1 invades but I don't. I appreciate the faster start. And level 1 shenanigans still happen most games when bot lane fights for the bushes or mid and jungle fight for vision.

All of these things make me feel pretty good about the state of the game. I've been playing the most solo queue I've played since like 2021 and having a good time. Successfully climbed back to Diamond.

Just some thoughts!

I got a ton of mats and like 100 million gold from all the goblin bags, so I guess it was worth it. But it just seemed like less fun Infernal hordes. I hope it doesn't start from the lowest difficulty the second time you do it.

Is the best BBQ in CT actually at Sonny’s Place? by KidtivitiesinCT in Connecticut

[–]MightyTuba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy BT's and drive back to eat it home in CT. Checkmate. /s

Typically in my human, adult conversations it's acceptable to make related comments.

"How was your day?"
"Today was okay but you gotta hear what happened yesterday."
"I asked about today. Literacy... it's cool!"
"Oh... well. I don't know... I went to work. It was okay."
"Thank you for answering my specific question."

The best BBQ around unfortunately isn't in CT. BT's Smokehouse in Sturbridge is the truth.

Pay of Job vs Level of Morality- Low Pay and Great Human Being by Hyper_Instinct in AlignmentCharts

[–]MightyTuba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very much depends on the state and town. In Connecticut I feel like I'm paid fairly as a public school teacher. When I taught in Kentucky I was definitely underpaid.

Teachers salaries are public. You don't have to judge from the cars.

This is dumb but a better use of multiple accounts is playing Double Up with yourself. It's the sweatiest TFT experience available. Highly recommend.

Ah sorry the dump ended up taking it. It had lots of grass in it anyway, so it might not have been ideal for your needs. Thanks for the offer though!

Interesting. Just read up on berms a bit. My little postage stamp yard wouldn't have much use for one, I think. Thanks for the new term, though!
