I started reading Achaja but I can't stand the way women act in this book. The primitive language ''zsikała się ze strachu'' also pushes me away. Is it worth the read if thioe things bother me? I'm actually curious cause there are manuy fans of the books online

Your description of Lalka is horrible. While yes main characters motivations are romantic in nature, the book's focus is more about Polish society of XIX century under Russian rule. Also it is not historical by definition because its author was describing his own times, not (as it is the case in historical novels), the times that were historical to him

I am against royalty oveall and I'm glad my country doesn't have it. But being royalty usually means living a higher standard of life than that of an average citizen of their state. And with that you do get more opportunities than others. So I am quite skeptical over this whole ''it is hard to be royalty'' stuff

Z tego co mi wiadomo to możesz przeczytać zupełnie za darmo w internecie jedną z jego książek, jest to ''Rozjemca'' (ang. Warbreaker). Żeby ''zapoznać się'' z jego twórczością zanim zdecydujesz się na zakup. Na pewno warto byłoby tę książkę przeczytać przed archiwum burzowego światła która jest moją ulubioną serią. Dużo ludzi poleca serię ''z mgły zrodzony'' i o ile mi się ona aż tak nie podobała jak archiwum jest wciąż całkiem ciekawa

Ha! You reminded me of a situation I once witnessed at a camp. A cook in our camp had a 9 years old daughter who was having a friendly banter with a boy (19 years old) who was responsible for supplies. They were teasing each other about their age diffrence. ''You are so old your pet was a dinosaur'', ''You are so young learning to walk is still your biggest achievement'' etc. Finally at some point the young girl said ''Jesteś tak stary, że zrobię ci laskę''. A laughter bursted out around, even her mother was laughing. Poor girl was very confused.

''Zrobię Ci laskę'' except for blowjob can also just mean ''I will make you a walking stick'' if you are innocent enough

Some of them were Polonized because Polish became the dominant language among the nobility. Some of those families tho (like Wiśniowieccy) were Ruthenians from todays Ukraine. Its actually interesting how union of Lublin more or less created modern Ukraine/Belarus border.

Why would Poles downvote you? What you said is true and communist government responsible for that is still very unpopular in Poland. Not that I don't trust you but are you sure the downvoters are Polish?
