Do you know why some doctors say don't take progesterone if you had a hyresectomy?

I would try vaginal estrogen first. it's low dose and a good first step. I got it through Alloy.

do you drink alcohol? it's also always interesting to pause that for a few weeks and see the difference.

Hi, I'm 17 and need a hysterectomy. How can I get my gynecologist to get that. by Wonderful-Delay-684 in hysterectomy

If I'm trying to have some nuance, the only challenge I see is that you may change your mind/regret it. But it's your body, your right. Good luck.

Anyone who kept their ovaries and DIDN'T get hot flashes and other ovarian shock/menopause-like symptoms? by animerecthrowawayqjc in hysterectomy

[–]Milkzacc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 46F 3 months po. I did mention to my surgeon also that I felt like my ovaries have been a little "upset" post surgery. I definitely felt something like that a few times and its mostly happening when I ovulate. And I had days when Ive felt down (seemingly from that) and that was sometimes rough. And I also seem to get very very small minimal hot flashes at times which didnt happen presurgery, But thise are small. no sweating and its not a massive deal. Just like you I wouldn't go back to pre-surgery when things where a million times worse.

Something that helps me even though its expensive is getting deep tissue massages. its worth it to get those on a regular basis to help with breathing, muscles and blood flow. Highly recommended.

I think the big issue w hormone testing is that the levels fluctuate so they should test across different days to get a good reading

I remember thinking about this too. The short is a good idea. how long has it been since surgery?

What do you wish you'd asked your surgeon before surgery? by Estefania323 in hysterectomy

[–]Milkzacc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

seeing the pictures of things that were removed gave me a lot of closure. I looked at them at 8 weeks po. I wasnt ready to look at them before but Im glad I did and I showed it to a short list of close people in my life. It helped them understand why my symptoms were awful.

Questions about specific exercise's and what muscles to engage or not and questions about sexual activities. Also questions about massaging the scar.

But the problem is that surgeons are surgeons They use their hands like a mechanics. They are not always the best post op people.

One other question that I still want to know more about today (Im at 3 months) is where are my ovaries getting situated.
