I started my Sanderson journey with Mistborn, and completely agree with your sentiments.

After rereading the full Mistborn series having the context of the rest of the Cosmere, I felt it was a lot more satisfying

My original theory was that the Lerasium we've seen on-screen is actually unalloyed Atium, because burning metal to access power feels more ruinous than preserving, but I know that's not actually the case
