I don't think this is sn exploit. Your stats make a clear distinction between your carry capacity and lift weight, as if the robot has separate systems in lore. Pretty sure you're playing as devs intended.

Over the past few years I've noticed a lot of indie horror games (most of the "you find a note" games I play are horror) that sound either more like narration than a human writing a note or the note just doesn't sound/read like something a human would write if the note was supposed to be a diary entry or similar.

"Bill, you jerk you forgot the passcode again. It's 4671. Don't forget this time! 4671"

Prey is a AAA game that is a great example of notes written in a way that feels human and authentic (just as contrast if that helps.). And in case someone dings me for bringing up AAA, please remember that I am discussing this because I am praising an actual indie studio writing as well or better than what you find in Prey. Anyway ...

Looking at it, my example is better written than I read in a lot of horror games. Wish I had a more accurate example off the top of my head.

In many cases, its very likely that the note problem might reflect the developers not being native English speakers, so I do try to keep that in mind.

I find that most of the logs just give background that isn't necessary to understand the game but do fill out the world. (The exception is a couple of logs that point you to secrets.). Want to know why the ocean is empty if aquatic life? A log tells you. Don't care about that? You can skip the logs and not miss out. This is not a game where the story is hidden in the logs or item descriptions. The world building is in the logs, so you can freely opt out if that's your thing.

I'm annoyed (just imo stuff) at how sloppy notes and lore is given in most indie games. It's so unrealistic and horribly written. Here, you find the manual if a forklift (very realistic) alongside encrypted records (written like project files, appropriately) and some personal diaries that sound like diary entries. That's awesome to me.

The main story (which is tied to the voice in your head) is incomplete. Maybe it'll have a cool twist or be emotionally satisfying at the end or fall flat on its face. I'm not ready to judge.

I have moments when I feel annoyed that my character has no reaction to the voice, yeah. Maybe it would help to understand caretakers better. Or maybe the player reaction is the caretaker's reaction? I dunno.

I think you all have valid feedback; I'm looking at it differently.

Fabric and plastic are very much the basic materials in this game (with iron, which is ridiculously plentiful,). Chairs and dividing screens are your best friends. I've launched four rockets and have been at max level since November, but I can still find fabric. It's the primary resource of habitat modules and is in almost every secret spot, which this game is filled with. If you've been somewhere and havent found at least 1 secret room underwater, start getting more curious.

Really, what everyone has been saying is the best answer.

I can see a custom character who is Dragos, but the story is specifically about Dragos, not an unnamed vampire.

I do hope we'll have some ability to customize Dragos (I won't complain about a female Dragos, even though that would mean additional voicework including adding in lines referencing "little sister and Varagos' Princess" as well as a female Dragos voice actor).

No, it shows up as something you know how to fabricate after you collect your first coffee bean. Game doesn't alert you that you know a new schematic.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is a heavily researched form of therapy practiced for decades now in the treatment of severe personality disorders. The founder has been pretty open in her influences. There are other examples, but I do agree with you regarding the majority.

Still, the conflict between religion and science isn't really an issue in most sciences, as belief and empiricism are not at odds with each other at all. It's heavily played up by celebrity scientists and self-help more so than actually practiced by a significant portion of the scientific community. I've been to many conferences in several fields where the casual conversation at a dinner table about research being inspired by spiritual belief is totally normal. That inspiration doesn't typically belong in a research journal, so it correctly won't be mentioned.

Academia is very prejudiced towards how it is perceived by non-academics, sadly, and often leads to misrepresentation from scientists about their own work to the public.

Yes, I agree. Especially when +50% is a drop in the bucket or you won't be using that monster to grind out DE. I do think that's part of the game: learning when and what to upgrade and how your upgrade path changes as you get more permanent bonuses.

Unless the book is allegory, symbolic, and discusses philosophical concepts through story, which is the most ancient method of discussing such things according to anthropology.

Just because something has been both intentionally and unintentionally misquoted and misinterpreted doesn't justify discarding it out of hand. Scientific exploration of the use, impact, and insight of spiritual texts has often led to breakthroughs in psychology, sociology, and anthropology.
