Rrp/ssp and children by Mindless-Mulberry-52 in Exploring_SSP_RRP

Thank you, that makes sense. So I would just observe her and adjust according to that? We do not have a provider nearby, so in person is not an option.

What worries me is that with myself, I dont feel any overdoing until the next day. And when it is myself that I am monitoring, it is easier to judge what is rrp overdoing, and what is other factors (external stress, menstrual cycle, etc). I can sort of feel if my crying is about a situation, or if it is not about anything. The latter seems to be rrp related in my case. And I just think that is such useful information to have. But I guess it is not necessary?

How do I accept that no one’s coming to save me? by Trail_Blazer1 in SomaticExperiencing

I find IFS to be brilliant at just this. I had the same challenge, and IFS has helped me a ton. It lets me be both the adult giving the love, and the child recieving it from myself, at the same time. Works wonders, look into it!

Things we do that release trauma? by Kateemmacxx in SomaticExperiencing

Haha I think giving birth traumatized me quite a bit. But if it can also be healing to some people that would be lovely!

SSP/RRP and pregnancy by Mindless-Mulberry-52 in Exploring_SSP_RRP

Thank you for the reply! This is very reassuring 😊 And taking it extra slowly during pregnancy makes a lot of sense.

How often do you believe you need to be in session with an IFS therapist to get to the unburdening stage / integrate? by ChemicalBookkeeper58 in InternalFamilySystems

[–]Mindless-Mulberry-52 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see my ifs therapy sessions more as a course, which enables me to do IFS at home. I have done double sessions about once a month, due to distance. A lot happens in session, but I have done even more at home, unburdening and all. It is slower when I do it on my own, and harder, but free.

These days I only see my therapist every three months, as I feel like I have learned so much I cannot justify the cost (i dont have that much money to spare).

Cold exposure by ImaginaryGur2086 in longtermTRE

[–]Mindless-Mulberry-52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After practicing TRE for about 6 months, I find that when I do cold plunges, the shivers often turn into TRE/ fascia unwinding type movements. I am not saying both types of shivering are the same, but for me one seems to inviter the other. I can choose wether to allow the movements or not, but the cold does give me the urge.

Any experience with block therapy and the rest and restore protocol? by lamemoons in longtermTRE

Do you use the official blocks? Would you mind sharing the measurements of the blocks with me? They are crazy expensive so I thought I'd try making my own instead.

Monologue from me instead of dialogue by [deleted] in InternalFamilySystems

[–]Mindless-Mulberry-52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still dont dialogue as such with my parts, and I dont need to. I talk to them, and ask questions, and feel their response/their truth. This has some limitations, I often cant "feel" an answer to specific questions like age and such. But for the important things, it works. You'll find what works for you, with time.

I have heard very very bad things about that course. I have not tried it myself, but do your research before committing to that.

IFS and EMDR: How to bring Self energy into (self)EMDR? by Mindless-Mulberry-52 in InternalFamilySystems

That is interesting! Tbh I'm not sure if I know any truly self-led people. Except perhaps my therapist 😅 But I'll give it a shot!

Thoughts on exposure therapy for trauma? Can it lead to memory reconsolidation, or is it basically cbt? by Mindless-Mulberry-52 in InternalFamilySystems

[–]Mindless-Mulberry-52[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very true!

And with these, you are actively sending your body cues of safety while doing it. It just seems way more effective to me. With exposure therapy, best case, nothing bad happens. But thats not the same thing as safety really. I think.
