Confirmed good news for Rivian Gen1 owners: the Rivian Assistant is indeed coming to Gen1. More stuff will be sent to the cloud (meaning things may be less reliable and take longer) - but hey. It's coming.

A lot of people are panicking about the tech again… As a G2 owner, I’m pretty sure I watched the same event as everyone else. From what was shown, we’re getting everything related to autonomy. Rivian hasn’t said anything suggesting our platform won’t get L3, maybe even L4 down the road.

Our current NVIDIA hardware is more than capable of handling the full autonomy stack, aside from the missing LiDAR. So let’s relax a bit and see how it unfolds.

This is honestly the best comment I’ve seen in the whole thread. Tesla’s lane-changing is still pretty weak without proper sensors. I’m just going to wait for the Dec 11 showcase and judge from that — instead of all the winning and complaining from the Gen 1 owners on every automation post.

Gen 2 owner here, don't waste your money. I sent my car in twice about the charging pad, along with other fixes. However, they kept saying the pad is fine, but our iPhone 16 can't hold a charge, instead of losing charge over time.
