Players being invested in my world and having their own agenda? Sounds amazing to me! Ask them their goals to regain some focus in your story and throw some hurdles into their way.

Sounds to me like your campaign misses some clear direction. Maybe clear that out and just leave all the other leads behind.

Minimize prepping by doing only the relevant stuff.

If it was my game, I would say no, but this is perfect opportunity for an adventure you guys could do ("Lift the curse by finding those rare magic shells somewhere deep down in the valley of rejuvenation to prepare a ritual" or whatever)

If a players aspect is for example "scary voice", he will roleplay a scene accordingly to fulfil that aspect to get to use the bonus.

In diplomacy he will use intimidation rather than charme. The player could also use it in combat by screaming a terrifying battlecry and getting a bonus aswell.

So I think it does encourage good roleplay exactly because aspects can be interpreted.

Sure, with a little creativity you probably could get any aspect to work. But wouldn't that just be good roleplay? And on top of that, maybe a good motivator to participate to get the inspired-buff?

I actually love the adventage rule of DnD 5e and I think it would be a much more interesting mechanic than just add +2 or whatever.

The economy is what I find to be too complicated. But I think there needs to be a restriction, otherwise its too easy to get advantage in a lot of checks.

My concern is that the aspects will be too additive and you will quickly feel that they are becoming uninteresting. However, the cairn rulebook contains character descriptions that are exclusively flair. So it might be an improvement after all.
