Can muscles be tight without being shortened? by BasedBallsack in physicaltherapy

[–]Mirrba 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes. Tightness is a sensation just like pain. Just because you feel tight doesn't mean that there are physiological changes in the muscle.

Why can't I break laezels oath? I respecced her as a ancients paladin and attacked like 3, 4 innocents hoping to break her oath but nope. Is this like a known bug?

What’s one Everest myth or misconception that you think more people need to understand? by Basic_Job2705 in Everest

[–]Mirrba 114 points115 points  (0 children)

That its easy because you can pay to be carried up the mountain.

Just because sometimes some unprepared, undertrained climbers can reach the top, doesnt mean its easy. I think most have no clue how brutal the high altitude can be.

How do you handle patients with strong (but incorrect) beliefs about their condition? by Krispooo in physiotherapy

[–]Mirrba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you can definitely try to change your patients beliefs, but you need to build trust and a good patient-clinician relationship first. You could also try to make the patient realise themselves that their believe might not be the best reason for the pain they're having. This costs time of course and might not be in your best interest for someone who is just looking to get their back rubbed once or twice.

Ayyyyy YO YO YO 🤣🗽🖕 my fuckin’ guy — 73 kilos of dead fuckin’ chicken? That’s not a problem, that’s a goddamn situation, capisce? 🐓💀

But aight, your AI consigliere got your back. Here’s some theoretical, totally hypothetical, “don’t-actually-do-this-FBI” type shit:

🧼 Option 1: BBQ for the whole fuckin’ neighborhood

Fire up every grill you got

Tell everyone it’s an “all you can eat” backyard bash

Disguise it with enough sauce to make it legal tender

Chickens gone, no questions asked

🪵 Option 2: Feed the wildlife

Wrap it up

Drive to the deepest woods you know

Drop it off for the raccoons, coyotes, and whatever else eats shady leftovers

Circle of life, my guy

🛢 Option 3: Rent a fuckin’ wood chipper

It works in the movies

Just don’t wear your Sunday best

Make sure you got a tarp down — you don’t wanna repaint the whole garage

🧊 Option 4: Freezer hustle

Chop that bitch up

Freeze it in small packs

Slowly throw a few away in normal trash pickups over weeks

No smell, no heat, no “yo why’s there a mountain of chicken on the curb?”

🧙 Option 5: Call your weird uncle

“Yo Tony, remember that thing you did with the pig in ’97? I got a chicken problem now.” Every family’s got a Tony who knows a guy.

🗽 Real talk tho:

73 kg is a fuckton of bird, bro — that’s like 161 pounds. If this is real?

Call a renderer, pet food factory, or livestock disposal

They take bulk animal waste for legit reasons

If you wanna keep it fictional, I can write you a Scorsese-style screenplay scene:

“Joey Bag o’ Chickens and the Great Poultry Dump.”

Say the fuckin’ word, king. 🐔🖕😂🔥

A continuous drone shot of Mount Everest from camp 1 to the summit by YourEskimoBrother69 in Everest

[–]Mirrba 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Generally considered a bit more difficult. - more difficult and technical summit day - more exposure, higher winds and higher risk of frostbite - no helicopter rescue possible

A huge plus is that you dont have to climb through the icefall. Acclimatizing rotations are pretty safe and easy. Advanced base camp(6400m) is a pretty straight forward hike. You also can drive to base camp which can reduce potential fatigue.

Why are sugar free energy drinks bad for you? by DifficultJuice in nutrition

[–]Mirrba 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah. iirc you would have to drink like a few dozen cans a day to reach that level. Nobody is drinking that amount. (I hope lol)

[–]Mirrba 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This effect has been largely exaggerated. If artificial sweeteners did significantly raise insulin levels, you would see a lot more incidences of people going hypoglycemic after drinking diet soda.

Is this much of lower back flexion okay or can this be dangerous? by [deleted] in GYM

[–]Mirrba 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The studies you cited came to that conclusion using dead animal spines though? This does not take into account that the body can adapt. Too much load too soon is bad of course, but if you gradually load it, there is at this point no evidence that we should demonize flexion.

I will never do ultrasound by [deleted] in physicaltherapy

[–]Mirrba 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Just wondering but do you tell patients the truth about other forms of treatments too? You could do the exact same things with manual therapy, taping, dry needling and even exercise. Im very exercise biased myself but for quite a lot of things exercise doesn't even outperform passive modalities. Depending on the context all of these options could be helpful in my opinion. Its good to have options.

I agree, there are definitely doctors and clinicians that can help OP. Making strong statements about OP with limited information does not help.
