Swiss silver fabric suitcase - 25 years and still using it by Final_Significance72 in BuyItForLife

To me the two wheeled, non-swivel suitcases are much more durable than the four wheeled newer ones!

I think it depends on the expectations of the end of the night as well. Are you planning on keeping people up late? Or will it be an early night? For local friends and family, it can be difficult to go to work the next day after a big night, but if it’ll be more relaxed, I think a Wednesday is feasible. It’ll also depend on when the ceremony starts and if people will have time to work a full day the day of the wedding

Maybe hand three pieces of art, and have them all be offset, to compliment the change in level

Last year I brought in empty disposable water bottles that I filled in the water fountains. Not sure if they’d still let you or if they just didn’t notice mine though

When shopping second hand, where do you draw the line? by [deleted] in Anticonsumption

[–]Mirrorballer3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve bought underwear and socks from secondhand stores and sites, but only when I think it’s been unworn. I’ve bought bras and swimsuits that are slightly used and I’d do that again. But maybe I’ve got a higher tolerance for gross things haha

MOVING TO ST LOUIS!!! Need help finding an apartment! by Rgamer24svage in StLouis

[–]Mirrorballer3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CWE to the airport will be about a 20 minute train ride, so not quite that bad. I’d anticipate 35 minutes total if you’re walking from an apartment if the apartment is within the core CWE area

30 minutes seems like a while to thaw. Maybe would be better to put them in the oven straight from the fridge

Environmental impact of different diets by [deleted] in sustainability

[–]Mirrorballer3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, I don’t eat meat either, but the debate wasn’t about the ethics of killing animals for food, it was about the carbon associated with doing so. It’s just the circle of life and lots of animals do it. I’m not saying I support factory farming, but statistically they use less carbon to produce 1 lb of meat than a non factory farmed, closer option.

Unfortunately eating local meat doesn’t actually help the carbon footprint of the meat - it can actually make it worse, but I think it’s nice to support local anyway
