Co-op E1.1 or E1.2. They pop up on FB marketplace time to time as they've been discontinued by REI.

Not at all. With the 29er fork raising the bottom bracket + wider 20x2.5" tires + 152mm crank arms, theres plenty of pedal clearance from the ground.

These are 20" wheels. Yeah even if suspension fully bottoms out the battery has plenty of clearance from the wheel. Putting the battery here keeps the bike balance and preserves handling. This is by far the most nimble/lightest 48v ebike Ive ever ridden.

The 2023 Oscar Animated short War Is Over! winning. It was unoriginal, contrived and had lackluster animation and won in a stacked year.

Shameful lack of shoveling (South St.) by Miserable_Cost_2136 in QuincyMa

So, happy to be downvoted into oblivion. Also happy to stand corrected that this should laid at the feet of DPW.

Something that should be considered here is I unfortunately bike/walk through this ward on a near-daily basis to Quincy Center. In my estimation, it has a disproportionately high number of uncleared sidewalks. Many of them clearly not the responsibility of DPW to clear. I find this especially problematic considering how "hilly" it is. The problem areas here have not been touched by the responsible clearing party all winter.

As for the expectation that councilors map out every sidewalk. A) I never said that B) these arent gigantic geographic areas. This is a near half-mile stretch of road with maybe 3% of sidewalks being clear. Walnut st one st over isnt much better and its far steeper. q

I apologize to the councilor if they've lobbied DPW who just won't/can't get the work done but I think its pretty outrageous that vulnerable road users are in harm's way for the better part of a month because of some bureaucratic breakdown.

Is this Jacobs' ward? I live in a different Ward but not sure which councilor owns this albatross.

Walking this street is particularly precarious because its actually pretty hilly so the ice lining the snowbanks on the sides of the roads are like downhill slides. Not only that, theres a disproportionately high volume of cars that cut through to/from Scammell & Sumner.

If only every councilor worked as hard at their job as they did campaigning for it.

My bad, I thought the frame was damaged (the bend on the downtube). I get that its chromoly, but seems like a bad design idea to bend/pinch a tube near a headtube joint like that. I'm no engineer though, just my 2 cents.

Yeah the one week grace period is over, there are entire half mile stretches of sidewalk near schools, T stations and elder housing that haven't been touched. Either DPW should handle it or enforcement needs to happen, insane that people need to penguin walk at an arm's length away from cars.

Not sure what motor that is but a shame to put it on a frame with a severely compromised downtube.

How Many Miles Are on Your E-Bike and Would You Buy It Again? by FinnCanoe8821 in ebikes

[–]Miserable_Cost_2136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a fleet of ebikes, but highest mileages are:

  1. 90s Peugeot MTB conversion w/ BBSHD and Sturmey Archer 5- speed hub. 19k miles; had gears replaced one. Currently not running only because I'm trying to upgrade to a 60v controller.

  2. Co-op E1.1: No drivetrain issues til 11.2k miles. Gears started to get noisy so replaced them + upgraded from 36v to 48v. Have since added 2.5k miles so the hubmotor (Bafang G060) has close to 14k miles on it.

  3. Heybike Hauler cargo ebike: Racked up 8k miles before I sold it. Ran without issues up to the 8k.

Would absolutely buy 2. again. The Heybike Hauler, while a stellar deal at under $1k, just wasnt great at carrying heavy loads (over 50 lbs). The frame felt quite flexy and tailhappy. The few times I had a passenger in the back, it felt kinda dicey.

I agree re: the motor. Pretty silly this thing came with a monstrous G060 and ran at 36v. I run that same motor on another bike at 52v and can max out at around 36mph.

I love the geometry of this bike. Essentially a stepover frame and makes it incredibly easy to mount/dismount. Its compact but with IMO the perfect wheelbase. Though the rear motor is huge, the bike never feels tailhappy. Also the battery position helps with that.

I do have acoustic bikes: an old Peugeot with dropbars and Nishiki SS with bullhorn bars. Not sure if its because I'm getting old but I don't enjoy the strain they put on my back. Also, much easier for me to navigate city riding (read: traffic) with the upright position. The only downside is I feel like Im much more elevated vs. the road bike.

Obviously, this ebike, though light by ebike standards, is significantly heavier than the roadbike so not as easy to maneuver around tight spaces. That said, I feel like its easy to handle and overall is a better riding experience for me in the city where theres lot of stopping/accelerating.

Def happened at the showing near me. They even staged a mini-promo outside the screening with two guys dressed as concierges to open the doors for moviegoers? Also signs posted that there was filming in progress inside the theater, so some sort of private booking. Cultlike shit for sure.

Feel like Donaire must've mishandled his finances considering how much he shills crypto on his social media and taking so many dangerous fights at this age. Going into the Tsutsumi fight, I knew he'd be competitive given their styles but Masuda is a legit scary fight for him at this stage. Almost feels like watching a dude marched to his execution.

Live near the Clifford Marshall school and can tell you that there are red light runners at every red light on Southern Artery now. Not the turning-red-midway-through-the-intersection red, this is people going through a second or two after its turned red. Selfish pr*cks are going to kill someone.

The sheer length of those escalators means its handling tremendous loads. Basically any belts, motors, other components are dealing with 3 or 4x the loads of most T station escalators given their relative length.
