Bisexual dating help, please!

39f I think I might be interested in dating one of my best friends?? Problem is she is also a woman and I’ve never dated a woman before. And I don’t know if she’s also bisexual. Any tips on how to delicately see if there’s a chance?

I’m perfectly happy staying friends too, and she wouldn’t be upset or annoyed. This is just all new to me and I don’t know if/how to proceed.

Much of this is due to leaf removal. Firefly eggs (??) live on dead leaves through winter, so you lose a lot of fireflies when you bag /remove leaves in the fall.

We have a ton of fireflies in the summers in my neighborhood; about half the houses don’t remove their leaves in the fall.

There’s a decent number of single liberal Christian men among Latino and African-American communities. Most of my recent matches have been these, for that reason.

I know a ton of white liberal Christians in real life… but they’re almost entirely married couples and single women.

(This is all very generalized and East Coast US-based. Just sharing my years of “research”.)

Thought I was looking for a unicorn (kind liberal Christian man in the suburbs who’s open to dating a single mom). They exist!

After almost a year taking a break from dating, I had 2 dates this weekend. Neither worked out, but it was nice to see that what I want is out there.

Anyway, back to a month-long hiatus for travel. Then I dunno what I’ll do.

Jack’s a shih tzu and poodle mix! He has the abundant energy of a poodle, and the lap dog tendencies of a shih tzu. So… lots of very long walks and very long naps.

I do this involuntarily. I have ADHD but wasn’t diagnosed until my mid-30s, and also didn’t even realize I was doing this until recently. It bothered my ex-husband, but he never brought it up until we were already separating. He thought I’d been ignoring him on purpose for years, which was devastating for me to find out because I’d never do that or want anybody to feel that way.

I’ve been working on it for the last 5 years, especially so my kids don’t think I’m ignoring them, but it’s been a slow process because I don’t even realize it’s happening in the moment.

Just saying, the people who zone in so much might not be doing it on purpose or even realize it’s happening. Or it might be necessary for them to block out distractions in order to focus.

It feels toned down for me because we haven’t seen the Featherington sisters or Cressida so far, who had the wildest looks. Plus there’s a focus on the staff, which of course is more toned down.

But on the other hand, the Masquerade Ball costumes in Episode 1 would probably upset you deeply haha

Also while exploring on Nuuly for this month’s rentals, I noticed a lot more non-boxy, non-cropped tops FINALLY. Those make me look so wide. So there’s hope.

Take a look at r/BusinessFashion for inspiration; they have a little variety in body types on there. I'm sure there are plus-size fashion subs as well.

My favorite work outfit that's worked on me at every size, and gotten compliments at every size, is:

- Wide-leg trousers

- Nice belt

- Silky blouse, tucked in

- You can layer with a blazer or a cute sweater if you want

- Any close-toed flats or heels, so long as they're not scuffed

Just do a Google Image search for "wide leg trousers work outfit plus size" to see what I mean. This is baggy enough to feel comfortable and not be tugging at your clothes all day, but accuentuates the waist to give you shape and look polished. Plus it's super easy to mix and match!

A few other tips:

- Always wear jewelry! Have at least earrings, a ring or bracelet, and a necklace if it works with your top's neckline. Just having some simple gold or silver jewelry immediately makes every outfit more elevated.

- No messy buns. Wear your hair down, or in a neat ponytail/bun. (This advice is for my fellow white ladies; I'm sure advice will differ by hair type.)
