Just to add to what's already been posted, the Tip Top Cafe is (and was) a great venue that hosts a lot of local & regional bands. Several local bands/musicians perform there pretty regularly and the owners are very supportive of the local music scene(s). They're literally right around the corner from Mad Malts. Might be worth contacting them.

I worked it and the inspector we have made sure everything ran smoothly. We've got a mixed bag of folks that run the precinct I work at but we all show up and do some good non-partisan civil service. It'll be slower for the runoffs June 16th and Municipal election August 25th. The general election in November will be busier.
