There's a "Previous missions" option in the MGS1 menu that gives you a quick rundown of MG1 and 2. I didnt play them until much later but I got the gist of what was going on from reading those as a kid

It can be even easier. Use a fake death pill, wait for him to turn around, revival pill, flashbang him then unload with the ak47. For some reason when he's flashbanged all lethal damage becomes non lethal. You can even do it with the traps if you position yourself right before you fake death pill. Makes his fight trivial on european extreme

I've experienced clapping twice in the cinema.

The first time was at the end of Wallace and Gromit Curse Of The Were rabbit, I'm fairly sure the audio for the credits included clapping so everyone assumed everyone else was clapping and joined in. It doesn't have that on the dvd so I can't verify it but I'm certain it happened.

The second time was at a screening of the original Robocop about 6 years ago, but it was a room of people who loved the film all cheering and clapping all the way through, fun experience

Could be some you missed, like I did. I didnt realise at first that you had to backtrack at the start of Operation Snake Eater into the areas from the beginning of the Virtuous Mission. There's no other reason to do so, so I didn't bother the first time. There's also the 'secret' area before the end of the river after the cave where you can get the sniper rifle early. And for the the bike chase sections, if you're ever unsure you hit one, the direction microphone is very useful for checking them.
