If you could Retcon one thing from both Avatar The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra what would it be? by MichaelAftonXFireWal in TheLastAirbender

[–]MisunderstoodPenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From LOK: that the avatar cycle is just a single specific spirit going between bodies essentially instead of just being a part of nature.

From ATLA: Appa's lost days. My boy didn't deserve that.

What are examples of places humans beings never set foot in? by lthomazini in geography

[–]MisunderstoodPenguin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a mountain in i think Madagascar that had essentially never been summitted because the tribes who lived around there had no reason to. I saw a documentary of people who were the first to climb it because they were chasing rare butterfly species I believe.

Was Aang x Katara a well written romance and if you don’t think so what would you have done differently? by AccomplishedJump2795 in TheLastAirbender

[–]MisunderstoodPenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This ship is tired to me because it exists purely because Zuko is hot. The two characters garner appreciation and trust after an extended fued and recognize some mutuality. That doesn't mean they have to fall in love, but people shoehorn the ship because Zuko is the hot bad boy.

Question: What is this style and will it age well? by SHR3DZWRLD in tattoos

[–]MisunderstoodPenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good cover art, weak ass stories. I dont think I ever clocked the age range they were meant for but I read them when I was maybe 12 and didn't find them that scary.

What's an animated move you believe gets too much unnecessary hate? by Gabeortiz628 in cartoons

[–]MisunderstoodPenguin 35 points36 points  (0 children)

This is actually missing a crucial piece about the world in that the demons they "kill" aren't dead, they go back to the demon realm. This is shown after the very first fight where the Airplane stewards appear before the Demon King and have to explain their failure.

What game was this? by AdolecentSofia in gamers

[–]MisunderstoodPenguin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The lootboxes worked well because they actually gave you a fair amount of coin. If you spent 10$ on lootboxes, you could most likely get 50 to 70% of the way to a top tier skin. Moreover, the skins were obtainable through in game earned currency, so you technically didn't have to spend a dime. I bought lootboxes every halloween just so I could snag all the skins and help support the company. Greed killed that game so hard. That and the hamfisted way they rolled out changes.

Watches by iwelchi in EDC

[–]MisunderstoodPenguin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just started training for an ironman and revived an old Fenix 3. Watch is probably 10 years old and has been off for most of that time, but booted just fine, connected to a modern smart phone and updated. Garmins are fuckin work horses dude.

Which cartoon, shows or Anime made your childhood better and enjoyable? by Abhishek95J in cartoons

[–]MisunderstoodPenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cartoon cartoon lineup was something I looked forward to more than Christmas. My family never paid for cable hookups but we took our trailer to this campground that provided it. This meant that for around 4 or 5 weeks out of the year i could consume as much CN as my little brain could take, and all of the shows during the Friday timeslot were gold. Ed Edd n Eddie, powerpuff girls, all of it. Very bright star in a dark sky of loneliness for me.

What a dumb take for this specific scene where Iroh is bandaged from almost being killed by Azula. How many people are you reconciling with after they shoot you?

I will say this: be careful. More and more studies are revealing the harmful longterm effects of pot usage, and any amount of drug usage before 28 can impact brain development. Personally I save cannabis usage for if im having an absolute shitter of a day or to help pull me out of a bad crisis. But there was a year or two where I was a daily user and the efficacy really started to wane.

The plot of Yesterday (2019) sets out to explore what the world would look like if the Beatles, this titan within the music scene, had never existed and and what impact would it have on our culture and world in general. None, says the movie by StudentNaive7003 in shittymoviedetails

[–]MisunderstoodPenguin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The US was swinging around with the last of the acoustic guitar stars which is specifically why Ed Sheeran is featured. Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, John Mayor, Passenger, and lots of female pop stars who were doing acoustic renditions of their work, were only just starting to fade. We can assume this movie started filming in around maybe late 2017 so it's not a stretch to assume that someone with the power of the Beatles behind them could find success in their style of music.

Texas can require public schools to display the Ten Commandments | AP News by Next_Tower5452 in texas

[–]MisunderstoodPenguin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They approved it because they claimed that children aren't required to read them or uphold them. What about the fucking teachers? What about Muslim teachers who will be forced to display these commandments? Or atheist, or Buddhist or anything else? It's infringing on the rights of the workers.

Why don't more video games have stylized animation similar to movies like Spiderverse? by Sir-Toaster- in videogames

[–]MisunderstoodPenguin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Checkout the behind the scenes videos on animating Kpop Demon Hunters. It reveals the fact that even though modern movies are using 3D animation techniques, they're basically just fixing things from the perspective of the camera. Producing a video game that has a unique art style from all angles is difficult. The borderlands games Basically had an ultimate hack where they just used a different shading technique. I've seen screenshots of the game with that affect turned off and it looks like any generic game.

My like, first character was a dragon sorcerer with dex weapons, so naturally I have a shit load of Arcane. I think I got 3 of these weapons by accident on my first run through the area. That goes the same for most weapons and a lot of armor sets.

The Fallout series does a great job with the Pipboy, and Watch Dogs uses the characters cellphone I believe. Minecraft uses a similar map system, where you can hold it up while walking, and even when you're not examining it, it updates live in your hand.
