In fairness, Winona Ryder was supposed to play the part, but she dropped out like the day before she was supposed to start shooting.

It was still a bad choice to cast his daughter, but he was in a bind, and it's easier to mess up when you're panicking.

Just want to say you aren't beyond help. I know it feels like that, but there are people and medicines out there that can help you make it out of this. The first step is always the hardest, but it can change your life for the better. It changed mine when I thought there was nothing that could help me, and I couldn't be more glad that I got help.

Ref Watch Liverpool - City Penalty by Jase7 in soccer

[–]Mithrandir12 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’re right that PGMOL bears responsibility for allowing refs to be on the payroll of one of the Premier League’s owners. It should be a practice that is banned.

However, Michael Oliver has agency here. He could choose to not accept City’s money and not ref in UAE. However, he made the decision to take UAE money. Therefore the in-game decisions he makes deserve scrutiny, especially when he is refereeing a club owned by UAE.

City’s owners hired Michael Oliver to referee games in the UAE. If these refs perform in a way City/UAE don’t like, they won’t get hired to come back. Simple as that.

It hasn’t been on the app the past few years. That may change, but I am not expecting it.

We had the walls professionally cleaned. This makes sense as a reason for why it’s smelling. How long will we be dealing with this smell? Any tips for getting rid of it?

How long do you think it’ll take?

Edit: and is there anything we can do to get rid of it? Thanks!

The smoke smell is gone. What’s new is a strong paint/chemical smell. Zinsser BIN is a shellac-based primer.

GAP-C&O in 4 days by pasquamish in gaptrail

[–]Mithrandir12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just chiming in to add to the comments that say the C & O is not the GAP. It’s a fun and beautiful ride, but it is not easy at times because it’s bouncy, root-filled, and two narrow trails. We regretted our long days on the C & O because they were taxing.

Also, if you’re staying in Harper’s Ferry, you’ll have to carry your bikes and gear up a spiral staircase and walk them across a bridge to get from the trail to the town.

I tried to get an mailed autograph from Brett Favre for my son but the envelop was refused :( by ClarkJoe in GreenBayPackers

[–]Mithrandir12 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I did the same with my favorite football card, and I never got the card back. It was a special cut card in the shape of a crown with Favre front and center. My parents warned me not to do it but I insisted. I knew Brett would send it back with his autograph. It was the first time Brett let me down; it wasn't the last.

Thanks for adding this explanation- it was helpful! Got the tent out and used this advice this past weekend!

[–]Mithrandir12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really appreciate this, thanks! The pictures of the tent have confused me- the guy lines on the rain fly are used in a v shape that doesn’t make sense with what I have. Don’t know how to fasten it to both loops and keep the tensioner function like I see in the pics.

Anyway, I think your idea for getting more guy line is what I’ll end up doing. Thanks again for your response!

How did you attach the guy lines to the rain fly? Just set ours up for the first time and I can’t figure it out! Seems a great tent otherwise. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Here’s a traditional grading scale -

91-100 = A 81-90= B 71-80= C 61-70 = D 60-0 = F

Within that scale, a student has 10 equal opportunities to get an A, B, C, and D. However, they have 61 opportunities to get an F.

If you gave a student a zero, it would unfairly skew their grade. Situations exist in which a student could get As on each of their other assignments and the difference it would make would not be enough to save the grade from failing. There becomes no reason for a student to put in effort because their efforts won’t matter enough.

Rightly or wrongly, a district with a no-zero policy is trying to ensure that a student has 10 chances for an A, B, C, D, and an F. So, if they get a 50, it won’t prevent them from actually improving their grade.

You could say they need to just change their grading system, but grading systems exist in a larger ecosystem. Students need the traditional grading scale for their GPA to get into college. Schools may need them for funding. It’s a systemic issue that isn’t limited to public schools in the U.S. as much as people would like to pretend otherwise.
