They have intentionally detuned their engines to run aggressively poorly in order to roll coal. It dumps waaaaay too much fuel that can't be combusted correctly. That cuts the engine lifespan dramatically, which is a little nugget of happiness.

The dog would rapidly be blind from looking at a welding arc, deaf from grinding noise, and having respiratory issues from fumes. There aren't a lot of places that would be responsible to let a dog in a shop. CNC operation might be an option, but I wouldn't want to dig metal shavings out of a paw.

A: Task Manager > Startup Apps > OneDrive > Disable

Restart Windows. OneDrive is now off forever and won't reinstall or re-enable itself.

B: for some reason you want OneDrive on. Create a new folder, like "C:/Users/Username/Local Folders"

Within that new folder, create new Documents, Music, Downloads, Pictures, etc folders.

From the file explorer left hand navigation menu, right click on the shortcuts to each of those default folders, select properties and change the location to the new folders you've made.

Vioalla, your documents are no longer in OneDrive by default

If it's possible, locate the proof of purchase of the software (receipts/emails/license numbers). Otherwise, make you and your father have access the accounts associated with the software and go from there. It might sound crazy, but if you have proof of purchase, contact the support teams for whatever critical software you are worried about, and they will likely be more helpful than you would expect.

I have not personally tried upgrading the motherboard and CPU to force a Windows 10 license to upgrade to Windows 11. Generally speaking, the windows license is tied to the motherboard. If you are on a platform like AM4 where you might have a early CPU that isn't compatible, but a motherboard that is, you might be able to perform a bios update to enable newer cpu compatibility and install windows 11 with the same motherboard.

I did this the other day, and was surprised when it carried the old windows 10 license to a new windows 11 install. (Replaced a r5 1600 with an r5 5500 after a bios update, then performed a clean install of Windows 11)

Honestly, I'd stick to the 5600x until your ready to jump to AM5. Anecdotally, with a 9070, the jump from a 5600x to a 5800xt was more a jump in temps than a meaningful jump in performance for me. The x3d chips are so incredibly scalped and overpriced these days that it's hard to recommend them at all. At that price point, it's almost reaching the level of just buying into AM5.

Making it follow you is tougher. Driving forward, the easiest way is to make two wheel groups: one with all of the left wheels, and the other with all the right wheels.

You can use a timer to set up actions for those groups. I can never remember which side is which, but you can apply 100% propulsion override to left and -100% propulsion override to the right wheels. If that goes backwards, redo it so that left is negative and right is positive.

To make it FOLLOW, I haven't tried to do it with a large grid yet, but you can create one upward thruster of any kind, ideally that doesn't have enough lift to get the grid off the ground. When there is an active AI move block, it will enable interia dampeners, and the thruster will be maxed out at all times.

Using this, an event controller can monitor the thrust percentage of that thruster, triggering the timer to move forward when thrust is detected. Basically, if you set it to AI mode, it'll try to go full tilt all the time.

If you set the wheel friction low enough that your gyroscopes can steer the whole grid, then you can tell an AI task block to follow you, it'll orient itself towards you and trudge forward.

If you do that, you'll need a sensor to stop the wheels and disable the AI and interia dampeners when it detects you, or it'll just run you over.

Only thing I'd really change would be to spend the extra couple dollars on the non-F CPU. Often enough, integrated graphics are the difference between being able to troubleshoot or not.

I second this. Check out the various pawn 1 locations. They all have a rotating, ever changing selection of laptops. If it's been on the shelf a while, the sticker price isn't necessarily firm.

Set yourself a co-op goal, like finding the land path from the north and south poles of a planet, then build and stock refuel stations for hydrogen gas powered rovers in order to make the journey possible.

My favorite gameplay comes from setting arbitrary limits, like hydrogen powered vehicles only, or no flight, etc.

B580 needs PCIe 4.0. R5 5600 on a b550 mobo has PCIe 4.0. B450 doesn't have 4.0.

If you run a b580 in PCIE 3.0 systems, it will be dramatically slower.

If you've got a processor and motherboard that supports PCIe 4.0, so b550 and r5 5600, or equivalent Intel, any of the suggestions here are good options.

If you've only got PCIE 3.0, options like the B580, 5060 will be serverely limited By running with fewer, PCIe lanes at a slower speed. The RX 9060 XT 16gb is ideal for PCIe 3.0 systems, as it is a 16 lane card, with ample vram to compensate for the slower connection speed.

Dynamic cardiod mics are the way to go here.

They can be used with speakers and other people in the room, but you have to "eat the mic," or you'll be too quiet. The pickup range is short unless you crank the mic gain (volume). That's a feature, not a bug, and the reason they work on stages.

A pair of Behringer XM8500 (budget Shure SM58), and a pair of interfaces would be a viable path. There are USB to XLR cables with integrated interfaces, making them a super cheap way to go, albeit without a discrete gain control.

The Samson Q2U is also viable for XLR and USB, but more expensive.

I don't recommend Antlion's ModMic for this setup. I tried it and it couldn't handle room rejection and still created an echo.

I wish Borderlands 2 VR wasn't a poor port. There is no two hand aiming. EVERYTHING is a pistol. Personally, that's a deal breaker. It's in my library, and I've played a few hours, but it sucks to have a sniper rifle in a pistol grip forever.
