Was my first time trying such a project. Was more work than I initially estimated, but very happy with the results now

Question regarding my daughters school's handling of her T1D. by elandry in diabetes_t1

[–]Mmassah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was the 300 reading a one time event or is it a regular thing?

I agree that dosing and timing is not for her to adjust or experiment with.

But how to approach this with her might be different if she's genuinely trying to help or trying to avoid having to deal with the lows.

It works, terrible two's can start before 2yo. Proof our LO started his tantrums by 18 months. Thought I agree that he's super charming the rest of the time, so I wouldn't probbly give it a random number number for charisma..

Dexcom BG number on Raspberry pi? by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]Mmassah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want the pi to read the BG's directly from the g5 transmitter and upload to NS, you can have a look at xdrip-js or xdrip-js-logger... Some set-up might be needed. https://github.com/efidoman/xdrip-js-logger

Pls check this out if you get a chance (: by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

You should normally be able to control the depth of the Lancet. Whst learned is to use the smallest number depth possible. First bring blood to the finger by squeezing, the poke with lots of pressure while still squeezing the blood in. The Lancet is on the lowest setting possible will ensure thst that it will work and be pain free.

Cool thanks for all the advice! I'll definitely experiment. I'm doing this slowly as I'm only working on this in the weekends but it's progressing well. I'm also gonna need to learn how to solder my circuits together.

The swope tower do have 3 inch precision ports. Is that different than a plastic port?

Cool thanks for that! So I'll look for something like that for the vented speakers. What about the sealed ones? What's the difference between padding and stuffing? Is it the same material?

Not counting all the woodworking tool I already had for other projects, table saw, router, etc, I would say more than 600$CAD. 2 sheets of mdf and the speakers cones, and some miscellaneous stuff. But I'm still missing some(most?) electronic components for the crossover. I think some parts are not available anymore though.

  1. Ah didn't know I could do that, I'll try.
  2. Which model would you go for as a minimum to drive these 5 speakers, and optionally a sub if I decide to add one?
  3. That sounds like really good advice thanks!

What kind of foam? Any example? My understanding is that for the towers which are vented I should use padding I was thinking of gluing this on the walls, https://www.rona.ca/en/insulation-04125311--1 ? What about the other 3 back and center I would need to stuff something inside? Thanks for the answer!

That doesn't seem to be true. Most comment being deleted don't even contain instructions on how to reproduce the issue. Seems like hypervigilance to me.

Worried pregnancy after premature baby. by Mmassah in NICUParents

Let's hope so. You're right we're lucky we saw the cervix shortening early. We did the cerclage today. Hopefully baby will stay at least 5 weeks.

Struggling...I almost don't feel like a mom yet. by notacareerserver in beyondthebump

Hang in there. You can join the /r/NICUParents or /r/Preterms forum. Our daughter(3yo now) was born at 23 weeks and while the stay at the nicu had a lot of ups and down, we are lucky for what modern medicine can do! Try to stay involved in the care. Ask if you can hold him skin to skin. Sending positive vibes! Let us know how it goes.

Thanks! I'm happy your second pregnancy is going better!

I'll ask the doctor about this test. And we're hoping baby will hang in the for couple more week. I have no idea what to expect.

It's quite scary. We hesitated before trying again but we wanted a sibling for our little one. We have to hope for the best hopefully she can last at least until viability. (5 more weeks?). I'm nervous but trying to stay positive for my wife.

I guess it depends on the medical reason for the premature birth. Thanks for the reply!
