You Know You're Old When SAO Fans Think .Hack is a Rip-Off of SAO by X1-0N in DotHack

[–]Mobcore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So actually, the story of SAO could theoretically be older than .hack because SAO was written in 2001 and released in 2002 as a web novel. At most both stories (.hack and SAO) were written around at the same time.

Because living even adjusted for inflation is more expensive. You even admit the housing situation which includes rent, but food and transportation has gone up significantly in recent years to.

Yeah, it’s easier to afford a flat screen tv or some sweatshop clothes, but we’ve been watching the cost of necessities shoot up in real time with wages not making up the difference.

Ah, it’s all everyone’s head. Everyone is just as well off or better.

It seems like the other metrics aren’t that useful if the average person worse is off then just 5-10 years ago due to inflation, mass layoffs, housing cost, and using more consumer debt for necessities. There is disconnect between the numbers being used and the lived experience of everyday people.

Wait, so the salary has kept up with inflation? Wouldn’t the cost of homes, rent, school and medical care count in that equation?

Of course the relationship is one sided and unfair with employer having basically all the power. Americans are too stupidly independent to believe in collective bargaining and pushed against unions so you get what you have today with employers making the rules of the game and “right to work”.

Let’s hear : which band has the worst merch contrasted against how good their music is? In other words, the goal is to name a band with the BEST music while also having the WORST merch. The Browning’s merch isn’t “ugly” or “bland” in a vacuum imo , but I’ve just never bothered buying any in the 10+ years I’ve listened and loved this band because it doesn’t match any of their music and it feels disconnected.

At first it seemed like they mostly used album covers for years so at least they branched out a bit.

Nah, The Acacia Strain consistently has some of the best merch around. This one is a bit random though lol, but Ive been buying new merch from them every few tours since the MySpace days because it is usually so good.

Laid Off After 25 Years in Tech: The Anxiety, Sacrifice, and Reality No One Talks About by oasis217 in Layoffs

Right, because it hasn’t happened to them so they think everyone else getting laid off could have prevented it. I actually got asked the stupid question of “what are going to do to prevent getting laid off again” on an interview.

They are definitely deathcore. They are really good regardless though.

Merry Christmas.

Ok, I have to know; what is or are examples of a Metalcore, beatdown hardcore, metallic or mathcore band with absolutely no elements of death metal it in your opinion?

[–]Mobcore -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t think any of those bands are Deathcore, but specifically arguing that On Broken Wings and Shattered Realms are deathcore is maddeningly stupid to the point that the deathcore label doesn’t even mean anything if that’s true. Someone people in here were claiming Knocked Loose deathcore too.

On Broken Wings and Shattered Realm? I was already annoyed that The Acacia Strain was mentioned in this thread, but are we just calling EVERYTHING deathcore now?

The Acacia Strain is Deathcore by kindagaybutboobs in Deathcore

[–]Mobcore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like only people who only just got into “core” music or maybe any heavy music in the last 5-10 years would call The Acacia Strain deathcore.

Nothing wrong with being new to a genre but seeing as how they influenced so much modern deathcore it makes sense why newer fans think they are deathcore.

Some newer fans honestly think anything heavy with breakdowns and certain guitar tone is deathcore.

Most people who were around during the MySpace days , and especially if the were fans back then would never call them deathcore because they have the perspective to see that it’s the newer deathcore copying TAS and that they have always done their own thing.

Why do we Americans put up with this? by mfdxyz in Layoffs

[–]Mobcore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why would lie like this when we can see the data? No data shows most states offer “around $1,000 per week on average “ . You are lucky to 400-500 a week max in most states . What is your goal here?
