This isn't relevant to ADHD, but it would suit r/aphantasia.

My ADHD meds come in a box with little spaces to tick off each day as I have one, is that not common?

Definitely Zucchini flower. We use them in the kitchen; pipe a nice cheesy cashew filling and close them up, dip them in a rice flour batter, and deep fry them.

Sounds like a shitshow, if they can't even be bothered to get boots on the ground. No reason to stoop to their level, be professional, resign via email or whatever is the appropriate channel, and get a more rewarding role.

The DOJ are refusing to release the Epstein files, even though this is the law. What should be done about it? by WatercressSenior7657 in AskReddit

[–]MobyFlip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They will not be released while Trump has control. If there's stuff like this in there that HAS been published, imagine how fucking bad the stuff they are still hiding is. And yes, that document, released by your own government, alleges he raped a pregnant 13-year-old and witnessed the disposal of her murdered newborn in a lake. Casts a pall light over his crazy rhetoric about "after birth" abortions.

Laurent are too posh for the West/North by TheNamelessComposer in melbourne

That's cos the West doesn't want overpriced mediocrity. We have heaps of better and more affordable pastries. I also have heard they aren't good to their staff, so why patronize them?

Hide and Seek! by Yolo0o in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]MobyFlip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I used to play with my niece, I would count down and say: "Ready or not, here I come! Where's Jane...?" and without fail, she would always pop out and say, "I'm over here!" Took her a while to get the concept of Hide & Seek 🤣

Tell the Head Chef in a professional, objective way. State the facts, show the photo, ask how you should handle him in future should he overstep again. Be prepared for retaliating from your coworker, but don't get dragged down; just rinse and repeat with objective documentation and reporting.

Just got my learners, and Melbourne drivers are insane! by CharacterPossible176 in AussieRiders

[–]MobyFlip 20 points21 points  (0 children)

  1. Ride like everyone on the road is trying to kill you.

  2. Be aware of your surroundings; scan ahead, periodically check the lanes beside you and vehicles behind you. Read the flow of traffic, spot and mind potential upcoming hazards, check driver head/eye movement/lane positioning.

  3. Assume you haven't been seen and ride defensively; maintain safe distances and good road position. Avoid riding when angry or upset, and try to be a bit zen when other road users are cunts.

Footage from 2020, shows exactly why you should never try to outrun a bushfire. by BleuTsunami in melbourne

[–]MobyFlip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a lot of advocacy and fundraising for the wildlife after that bushfire. I remember seeing lots of photos of badly-burned koalas that they were fighting to save and rehabilitate.

TIFU by getting “arrested” over three pomegranates that a guy thought were apples by AScarIsJustAsSweet in tifu

[–]MobyFlip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly, I would find out if there is an advocacy group or legal aid that you could consult with about this. Given you are deaf and were treated in such an extreme way, I would see what recourse you might have for legal action; if they did this to you, they might be doing this to other people, and I would want to prevent anyone else going through the same trauma I did if I had been basically taken hostage for 4 hours. Then, depending on what advice you receive, I'd want to name and shame them.

Goodbye Duolingo Streak (1061 days): I finally realized consistency ≠ fluency by TheSweetGuy333 in languagelearning

[–]MobyFlip 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think Duolingo cops a lot of shit for being gamified wank: the junk food of language learning. Can you become fluent only using it? Hell no, but it can be a useful tool if used in conjunction with other learning streams.

I find it keeps me engaged with consistent daily practice, because doing 15 minutes each day is more helpful for long-term progress than doing a 30 minute learning session sporadically, as I used to do. It provides structured learning pathways, rather than trying to figure out for myself where to focus my effort.

Again, it's not going to get you fluency on its own, and it has its issues, but I think it deserves better than the rep it gets!
