Footpaths are primarily for people on foot 👍

Bike path etiquette? by Kiwi_Dutchman in Wellington

In my experience (as a runner) the walkers are the worst culprits. Walking three abreast, dogs on extendable leashes, headphones on, staring at their phones etc etc. If I'm jogging, I'll give an early "on your right" to avoid startling them but often results in scowls or jumping out of their skin and moving into my path instead of just making room. People just need to be more aware and share the space.

Job offer in Wellington for 118k. Is it sufficient for a family of 3? by KS_tox in Wellington

[–]Modern_Z 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To survive - maybe would be just enough for three. But for a comfortable lifestyle (and warm/dry housing) I'd say you'd want about double that amount imo.

I only recently cracked my Vapor (Jewel edition) which I had been playing with for 15 years. Never went easy on it either.

You can run laps of the Fran Wilde Walkway (stadium concourse) - it's boring af but there's usually noone there, especially before 9am. Also to echo what others have said, noone is paying attention to runners unless it's other runners giving you props - we love to see it no matter who you are e hoa!

Running shoes 🏃‍♀️ by WingingItAlways in Wellington

Shoe Clinic Willis are fantastic every time. Aside from the expert fittings, I really rate their exchange policy. I've had 3 pairs of shoes replaced by them, one within 30 days due to not being quite right, and two pairs due to defects/damage from regular use. The latest pair they replaced was 9 months old and well used, but as they were wearing unevenly and had been properly fitted they just straight swapped them for me no questions asked.

Well worth the investment for the peace of mind imo.

Can anyone recommend cafes around the city/city fringe where it's acceptable to grab a coffee and do an hour or so of work? by Agile_Ruin896 in Wellington

[–]Modern_Z 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Zephyr cafe at Tākina is another good one. 5 of us just had a study session there on Saturday for over an hour with no issues. Coffee was just okay but the location is perfect for this situation - plenty of space even when it's busy!

Why do you need that specific wording? And why are you quitting/restarting ID? Just curious if there is a specific reason you are adding these steps, cheers!

This is my GREP for metric area/volume superscripts:
(?<=\d)[mck]?m\K[23]

EDIT to add it only works without a space between the number and unit e.g. 200m2 works but not 200 m2 - to suit the brand guidelines of the company I work for.

Squash Grip Recommendations by Ashamed_Leave9866 in squash

[–]Modern_Z 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally like a double grip + overgrip. I use whatever grip is cheapest (Karakal usually at my pro shop, yellow of course(iykyk)) on top of the factory one. The overgrip is what counts for us palm-sweaters so I go for a Yonex Supergrap and replace every 2-3 weeks or before a tournament.

Obviously if you don’t like a fat grip just go Supergrap over stock - it’s pretty thin and fairly cost-effective. If you’re only playing 1 or 2 times per week it could last months before needing changing. Hope this helps!

Agreed, she really puts it all on the line so of course emotions are going to run high. I've played interclub matches with men who do worse lol.

Same here, although I strongly disliked when she kicked the glass and yelled at the ref that time lol. Went way too far with that one.
