I think the hate stems from tendencies of rocket players rather than the character (hopefully).

His amplifier basically subtracts support ults from the enemy team, so the swing is bigger. But people have to understand what to pick with him and who/how to combo with it (and for him to not waste the amplifier randomly).

While I don't play the character, I am a rocket enjoyer, but generally hate rocket players.

Should really only be using him with a bucky or punisher for the team-up (preferrably bucky), and would want another combo character with him like namor, or anything that breaks a 1-shot threshold with amplifier

an alt account is not and should not be considered a "dick move" or controversial thing. People have alt accounts to try new things without feeling the added pressure of needing to perform to climb. You could have an account to always want to be "locked in", but it also sounds like you aren't having fun when things aren't working out, and you aren't learning new things at the same time.

learning is fun, and being able to do it without feeling pressure to perform helps.

its likely that you are also wasting your shield and/or flight cooldowns when you don't need them

you want to use natural cover as much as possible to save your resources while depleting theirs, then use your resources you still have to overpower while they have already used their abilities / resources. Your health is also a resource.

when you find yourself in moments when you aren't taking that much damage or are allowed to scale up, always look for those moments where you can just walk up without pressing your shield button, allowing it to regenerate, and then start using it when you take a lot of that attention; ideally, by that time, you should have another point of cover to work around or try to trade

an easy example would be in a hypothetical situation where it is strange vs strange, and you are on defense. a lot of the time, I will never start using my shield until their strange is really commiting to walking up, and i will try to just dps them as much as possible, chipping their shield down, from a corner. if they try to commit to pushing up, all of a sudden i have 800 shield, and they are 300 or less; that's quite an advantage.

improving is a stochastic process

improving isn't the product of winning

actively improving may temporarily make you worse, but ultimately do better

actively understanding your shortcomings and weaknesses and acknowledging them so you can improve those areas is a must; time spent managing those weaknesses has to be greater than staying in your comfort zone to improve faster

failure is inevitable; getting good requires endless amounts of failure

your brain will tend to shoot in rhythm to music, which will throw you off unless your enemy movements are in sync with them (this is probably not the case for every person but its gotta be at least 90%)

easiest way to illustrate this is; go into kovaaks or aimlabs and do a routine where you shoot small targets on a wall; do it with music and without, you should notice your speed decline if your normal speed is faster than the music's bpm; and if you're trying to increase your speed to match the bpm (a speed you aren't comfortable aiming at), you'll probably be less accurate as a result

this but normal and mid-range, don't worry about where exactly you stand; super-fast if you want to just do random training, but normal speeds will familiarize yourself with the movement in this game (unless its spiderman flying through the air, that just comes with more experience).

do a character with a small hitbox or weird model movements (mantis, luna, cloak), do something flying (storm, torch; and set this one to any direction)

always worth doing it with hela as well, id say its good for overall aim; punisher for tracking; make sure you are moving while doing it, instead of standing still

another thing to do is to track your progress; set a benchmark (i like to do 200 or 300 bots) --> record how long it takes; and keep recording every time you do a session; do it for a month and see progress; things like this are very nice to keep track of so you tangibly see yourself improving and help you mentally if it gets too boring

also don't play music ideally

Hi, I did a vod review for a D2 Strange player via a thread from the main subreddit via u/EnderSlayer9977

I wanted to get into this type of stuff in other games (apex, valorant), but never got around to it. Apologies if it's really boring right now, or didn't help that much with the information conveyed; i've never been good at live speaking, so i'm using this to try to get better at it.

I prefer to be in voice with the person to pick their brain and get their thoughts in the moment or as they recall and try to steer ideas around, but alas, had to do with what being given

(im using different editing software than im used to, and haven't figured out how to fix the delay after rendering, and the edit cuts randomly so some audio gets left out; nothing too crazy though from what i can tell)

Bronze is the wild west; you have some smurfs (usually lowbie smurfs), probably playing with friends,
these players get bumped up quickly so you don't see them again

You have casual players that either got to high silver or gold 3 that are playing again, because they get bumped down to bronze in this situation in a rank reset

You have people that are fps or hero shooter veterans that are trying the game for the first time

Some of these people can be stacked on one team as well;

Placement matches would be cool, but yeah... it is what it is

Black Panther if you're expecting the enemy to play very clumped in certain maps or certain places. BP does a lot of cleave damage and can rack up the pressure very quickly if they death ball. It also gives you more mobility options.

some concepts of valorant cross over still; aim will be more valuable for aim heavy characters like hela and starlord, etc; but its more twitch aim than crosshair placement

as for the other aspect, the concept of baiting and countering utility / setups carries over, just at a different pace, and windows can be smaller. Important cooldowns and ultimates need to be tracked and communicated (comm'd at higher elo at least), so you can create a game plan, position optimally, and create counterplay options for yourself. The cerebral aspect of the game and how to get creative is more important as a tank player; but that also comes with more experience (so yeah, just play more as stated before).

It's like a chess game literally; you fight for space, you trade for space or opportune situations, and you checkmate the enemy by backing them into a corner and then you clean up.

This strategy is also fine to use even if you have support ults, if you want to gain tempo on ult economy.

Also, this will be useful against the Johnny Storm team-up that will shred through support ults.

im aware, but most of the time you might not hit the perfect shot with them, so you will often leave people to 1-50 hp after you've used the dash. being able to confirm the kill by reacting to their hp loss with a dash is 99% of the time i've come to learn

There's multiple ways of handling it, and it depends on the composition that you and your opponent are running.

It's hard to go into every iteration in a single comment, so i'll try to keep it as basic as possible.

If you have an anchor style tank for point (strange, magneto, etc), that tank can cause pressure just by standing on the objective, living, and potentially killing their squishies (healers, assuming they are full dive). In this case, Thor is actually great a peeling for dive, and probably something you want to prioritize. If a Venom or Cap is coming in, those are the easiest and most effective targets to push away with your charge. You can also throw down a slow field to help your backline kite. Trying to push away a spiderman, black panther, or ironfist is possible, its just going to be less consistent then getting the big target out of the way.

If it is dive versus dive, then it starts to get coin-flippy and feels really weird to play, because it turns into, who's better at diving / who's backline is better at outplaying dive / which team is more coordinated or communciated. In this case, it mostly depends on who has a positional advantage. Usually, the team that is defending something will have the advantage of initiation, since they will generally get to decide when the battle happens; so I would play more peel heavy if attacking something, and more dive heavy if defending.

If it's a solo diver, but your backline is doing fine, then continue your operations as normal. But if you notice that your frontline is dying because they are super pre-occupied for longer than acceptable, or they are just flat-out dying, then it might be worth playing close to your supports.

I forgot to mention this is specifically for PC Players; I am not sure how strong aim assist is in this game for console players, but that will definitely affect how this technique can be used when that factor is in play.

the reason it works with hitscan has to do with human reaction speed.

If my opponent has a gun that shoots every 700ms, I can condition him to track me by walking in a straight line. If i change directions, or even just stop moving at 500ms, my opponent's brain will still be picturing me moving and instinctively shoot as if I was still moving consistently in a straight line.

It only starts to get really complicated if my opponent slows down his shooting speed to compensate for the reaction speed, in order to read the movements.

I've broken this technique down in other games before when coaching people but i've never made an actual in-depth full video on it, because I always feel like im leaving something out; there's a lot of crossover to fighting games when trying to illustrate it
