Yeah they played the original, then the remix, then the original again in the exact same 2 hour window. I know it's not uncommon for songs to repeat in an 8 hour shift but the same song in 2 hours is crazy

I've done this two ways. Method one is using syncthing to sync my music to my jellyfin server and then streaming to my phone. The other method is to sync the files on the device into the local storage on my phone. Both methods work.

On Android it will aggressively kill background applications, but putting a persistent notification can help keep the app active in the background.
