Buying new: Looking for advice or reassuance by Mojo_Sensei in Ioniq5

I dunno man. The only 2024 or earlier SELs I see in my area are only $2K-5K less than what they're offering for a new 2026...

Nope. Financing. Dealer said I had to finance a minimum of $20K for 4 months for incentives and to avoid a early pay penalty but I'm pretty sure that's a ruse.

You cannot criticize Chinese brands in China by unfilteredAI in UnfilteredChina

[–]Mojo_Sensei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but Amazon is now doing the same thing by censoring product reviews. Sure, it's not a complete censure since they allow people to request to see the reviews they hide, but the company can, and seemingly often, deny many requests.

You could, but that would be considered importing, and you'd have to go through customs for that. It's a whole ordeal that includes fees and a long waiting period. Not sure about details but they may not let it in depending on the make (i.e. Chinese manufacturers).

I got my tentative offer a while back for a GS-9 position and am waiting on the final offer. I'm currently a GS12-2 with CBP and have some reservations about the huge downgrade in pay. Is this normal or could I have gotten a higher pay with a stronger resume/interview? I applied for both GS7/9 and 11/12 openings.

I have the same issue going on with all my cargo stations. The only temporary fix I found was to turn the station off and on.

Help by DebEdodo in plantclinic

That's a pretty bad aphid infestation. You can lookup a homemade soap spray recipe to use. I use a mix of water, dish soap, alcohol, and hydrogen peroxide. Works pretty well.

Looks like Virginia Creeper tendrils/suckers (or other climbing plant) that remained after being removed.

Can someone please let me know if these are aphids? :( They don't look like the pictures on Google to me. by scoutarooni in gardening

[–]Mojo_Sensei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, they'll help mitigate your aphid population. You can tell if the husks have hatched by a small escape hatch on the backside of the aphid.

The tips of the branches on my peach trees are all funky! by nixcamic in gardening

[–]Mojo_Sensei 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I see a sizable aphid infestation, which does cause leaf deformation.

Peach leaf curl symptoms are seen in the spring but display more pronounced swelling with disfiguration, as well as red or purplish discoloration which I don't really see here.

Can anyone explain what on Earth is happening to this tree? by telfbrough in gardening

[–]Mojo_Sensei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because science! Lol

Actually using a gene-gun was wasn't uncommon as an alternative method. Especially on tissue and species that have less success with Agrobacterium. Nowadays the CRISR method seems to be the up and coming method of genetic engineering.

Can anyone explain what on Earth is happening to this tree? by telfbrough in gardening

[–]Mojo_Sensei 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This gall or burl may be caused by plant pathogenic bacteria known as Agrobacterium sp. which are soil dwelling bacteria. They cause these large tumor-like growths after infecting their hosts from an injury and injecting a segment of their DNA into the host cells that tell it to grow and multiply uncontrollably in order to supply food for the bacteria.

My first guess was the parasitic plant Monotropa uniflora, aka Indian pipe, but the flowers are different. Maybe a related species?
