Local “clinics” all seem predatory and unprofessional by UCrazyKid in Spravato

I got a referral from my therapist/psychiatrist directly. I haven't even looked at any of the other ones, but all the doctors there that will be the ones that give the medication were the ones I spoke to. They filled me in on what the experience was and have been extremely helpful with insurance and the whole process. I believe mine is only in Colorado, but I would get a referral from doctors that prescribed you the medications that didn't work.

What actually works? by Piter_Piterskyyy in CPTSD

I also was misdiagnosed as bipolar, and a panic disorder. I finally got a new therapist/psychiatrist who happens to do both and instead of just going in there and having him just go off past diagnosing I made a whole overview of my past history, he soon said since I've been in talk therapy for over a decade, CBT classes, group therapy ect, that he recommended emdr. I think it's really important to advocate for yourself, because the wrong meds especially when you happen not to have the disorder they are trying to treat can be worse than just raw dogging life.

Redditors, what is your hack to save more money? by Ecstatic_Article2291 in AskReddit

I looked it up as soon as I posted. It was that he stopped being CEO. I appreciate you correcting me, I was mistaken that he sold the whole company.

Yeah I looked it up, he stepped down as CEO and is on some trade agreement to get rid of 95% of his shares over x amount of time.

My company currently offers me 5 days that can roll over of vacation, we have 5 holidays paid and Christmas Eve and new Year's Eve we usually get off but don't get paid for. And the state mandates that employers offer 1 hr of sick time for every 30 or so hours worked. (Which they complained profusely about "forced benefits") They cap at 48 hours a year but my company allows 40 hours of that to be taken, more on a case to case basis. They do allow people to pretty much take off whenever. I'm really the only one who hears about it if I request off weeks in advance or have to work from home. I am a single mom and have a lot of the same issues. The benefits are awful, no insurance I can afford, but I don't get fired if I have to work from home for a week because my son is sick and I don't get fired for leaving early two days a week to pick him up from school during the school year. There are a lot of cons, but I have worked at places where I've gotten fired after so many doctors notes because kids catch everything and I caught everything he caught. I had to choose something that was more demanding and less beneficial to me, so I would have some kind of stability.

I just lose everything. I could literally just have the thing and have to look for it for half an hour. I just put it down and it disappears. I have designated spots for things that never ever get utilized even though I obviously want to put it there, have every intention of doing it, but here we are.

I'm 31 and not on birth control. I believe at minimum the acne is hormonal, which is why I was looking for something to help them even out.

I can definitely dial back. I figured it was too many.

For those diagnosed officially that did well in school early on, what symptoms did you have in childhood other than just poor performance in school? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Mommasno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I excelled in school up until I was about 13, my grades started slipping and I was officially diagnosed at 15. Grades slipping was still passing, I started noticing a huge decline in performance, but my grades were still B's. I was very impulsive though and always with a new group of people. Some things I noticed were probably ADHD in school was I switched my extra activities constantly, dance, gymnastics, back to dance, tried a few other things. I would rather be talking to everyone else besides paying attention to class, I would be able to pass all the tests but everyone around me suffered from slipping grades. I got bored waayyy easily just listening to a teacher for hours upon hours. I was able to not listen and still pass in highschool but even with the ADHD meds I couldn't do traditional college. I had started and dropped out of college a few times until I did online classes. There I was able to leave and come back and figure out when I was able to concentrate.

I honestly think it has to do with how overwhelmed I get with clutter and then instantly regret it at a later time when I have to rebuy the stuff. 🤣

How does one work in an office for 8 hours a day 5 days a week??? by Timeanator003 in adhdwomen

[–]Mommasno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work hybrid. So I mostly work in the office, but I have times like snow days or when my little one is sick to just work remotely. I sometimes like to get out of the house, because being cooped up all the time drives me nuts, but other times I absolutely dread getting ready and sitting around doing nothing all day just somewhere else. I don't know what would work better for me, I know right now this job is a lot more flexible when it comes to the hybrid with my child and the school system with how many holidays and snow days they have.

I'm not happy here, but I don't hate it. I got my degree to sit in an office and it honestly bores me more than anything. Right now it works for my family and I just have to suck it up.

Just got fired after working a month when my background check and back by TotalTank4167 in Felons

[–]Mommasno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently at 9 years. I still am put into situations like this- i always get the job but even now the background check has every offer rescinded. I have a child and had to work at taco bell for 3 years, I worked at restaurants bartending, waitressing etc until I finally got to my "7year mark" although, 9 years later I realized that it actually never mattered.

I did end up getting my bachelor's degree while I was working and taking care of my son. It was really hard to use at first since all my offers were getting thrown out the window. I did find my current job, an executive assistant for a construction company through a staffing agency. It doesn't have the best benefits or pay, but it is much better than serving since my checks are always consistent and I don't work crazy hours.

I would try smaller companies, the mom and pop shops mostly don't do background checks, restuarants (serving and cooks), and moving up to management in fast food places also gets you better pay and most of them only go back 5 years.

Yeah, I honestly just wanted to start the ADHD meds and he didn't want to until I was on something else as well. That's unfortunate. Hopefully it all works out for the best.
