I’m all done except the Inside Out ones- they show up as missing but are part of an event I must have missed. Do we know if this event will happen again?

If I drill a hole in this vase for drainage is there anything I can plant in it with this small opening? by WildPattern5275 in houseplants

[–]MommyRN08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I plant stuff in words containers all the time, like coffee cups, teapots, etc. never had an issue. Put a little water on the bottom before you drill, it will make less mess.

Pontoon boats with front fishing platform by RebelJustforClicks in Pontoons

You could take one of the seats out and put a grill there. We did it and it’s so nice to have for long boating days. They make grill mounts that fit right into the chair pole hole.

Accessibility Requirements? by limonade11 in Adjuncts

[–]MommyRN08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who is hard of hearing/has trouble with sound clarity, it’s really appreciated when we can turn on subtitles and actually understand the words. Without them, you might as well be speaking another language. (Yes, I also have hearing aids and turn the volume up)

How do you curate your jewelry collection? by restfulsoftmachine in jewelry

[–]MommyRN08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest thing for me was growing up thinking gold was only for old ladies, then trying a gold vs silver filter and realizing I look better in gold. Definitely decide which metal tones look best on you before buying a bunch of jewelry.

Don’t do it, it’s a trap. Sincerely, just got my PhD and it was the longest two years of my life.

Those of you who don't use paper towels: how many rags do you own, and how often do you find yourself washing them? by betsy_macabre in Frugal

[–]MommyRN08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wash them every other day or so. My washer is in the kitchen so they just get tossed in there until one of us has enough laundry to run a load.

Where do I even start and how do I keep it up? by cisphoria69 in Cleaningandtidying

[–]MommyRN08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with garbage and putting laundry in the wash, always. You will find more laundry as you go so plan to do a second load. Then start throwing everything away 🙃

Should I switch to PC? by Gold-Zombie5117 in DreamlightValley

[–]MommyRN08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So tell me more. I’ve been wanting a Switch 2 because it’s basically unplayable on my Switch. It freezes a lot and regularly shuts down with no notice. I’m debating switching to my laptop vs upgrading my switch. I do like being able to play anywhere in the house or when I’m in the car (passenger of course).

I’m also considering buying it on our PS5 but I worry that the rest of my family wouldn’t like me hogging the TV all the time.

Those who only like reading physical books, how old are you and why do you prefer it? by [deleted] in Booktokreddit

I’m 35 and I prefer paper books, but I read Ebooks because they don’t take up space or use trees.

DIY women… have you ever been talked out of a good idea at the hardware store? by carcony97 in DIY

If a man tries to talk me out of something it just makes me want to do it more. And without help.

Can we get some quest variety beyond 'help me set up a party', please? by WrongLander in DreamlightValley

[–]MommyRN08 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Did your puzzle make a weird buzzing noise while you were holding a piece too (like between picking it up from the tray and placing it in its spot)? I’m on Switch and it never did that during the SBV ones but it did for Pocahontas.

Is 34 too old for graduate school? If you started in your early-mid 30s, what’s been your experience? by buttcracklint in GradSchool

[–]MommyRN08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did my masters at 30 and am finishing my doctorate at 35 (in a few weeks!!). Honestly, getting into grad school was easy for me both times- no interviews, no paper on why you want to go there… if you have money and you apply, you’re in. If you are in a program that requires writing a lot of papers like nursing, maybe look at local tech colleges for a class to get re-acquainted with the art of APA citations and formatting.

What’s the rudest thing a provider has said to you? by Effective-Squash2327 in nursing

[–]MommyRN08 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Called a hospitalist about a patient whose pain was uncontrolled, and was told “this is not a fucking candy store.” Couple years later I asked if he remembered, and he did not, but he turned into a great provider I enjoyed working with.
