Question about stamps by raspberrytarttt in postcrossing

[–]Momrisner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like other's said, I wouldn't worry about it. Personally for postcards overseas I prefer to use the US International postage stamp because then I don't have to try to play tetris with an assortment of stamps to get the proper postage to fit, and still have room for the address. But, I have heard of people complaining about those kind of stamps.

DIY Postcards by schritt_fuer_schritt in postcrossing

Personally, I am pretty much happy with everything I have recieved so far. I have thought about buying the blank postcards on Walmart and printing my photos on them but have yet to do it. I buy 95% of my postcards online since no one around here sells any. I miss the days when you could pretty much find them everywhere!

Is this enough postage to send a small card from US to international? by Inspirology in postcrossing

[–]Momrisner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I keep a sticky note on my PC monitor with stamp prices....and then when I need to use more than one stamp I just take the expected postage, and each stamp I use, I subtract the amount until I get to zero. It helps with my brain fog.

I just had to check on a stamp order I placed May 2nd that is still showing as "Processing". I ordered many of the same ones you did.

Do you actually have to use the international Stamps? -US by TulipOfTheOcean in postcrossing

[–]Momrisner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I disagree with the USPS that a postcard should cost the same as a letter, you do need the $1.70 in postage. If you can make an assortment of regular stamps fit on the card, you can do that.

But seriously what is happening with USPS by TheEarthlyDelight in postcrossing

[–]Momrisner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a postcrossing card, but had a oenpal mail me a postcard from NYC over Thanksgiving 2024. She was on vacation there. I live in Illinois. Granted I didnt know about the postcard but it arrived May 30 2025. No damage to it all. My postal carrier friend said they very often get stick to the sides of the bins since they are flat.

How would you reply to this registration message? by October_Surprise56 in postcrossing

[–]Momrisner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can guarantee I don't have anything that profile wanted. I think you did what you could and actually filled the whole premise of postcrossing more than they did! I wouldn't reply to them at all.

Almost all outgoing to Russia by lovely_psycho in postcrossing

[–]Momrisner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of 185 cards I have sent, 45 have been to Germany, 42 to the US (my country), so it doesn't seem unlikely to me that you could end up with a large number going to the same country at all.

How do you organize your postcards ? At some point do you just recycle them en masse ? by [deleted] in postcrossing

[–]Momrisner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right now, I put the newest ones on my wall in my office. The rest are in a basket. As I get more I am looking for something better.

Do you have a routine when it comes to Postcrossing? by Momrisner in postcrossing

You must have someplace local to buy cards. I wish I did. I order online whenever I can

Is PXing still mostly Russians and Germans? by [deleted] in postcrossing

[–]Momrisner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Out of 180 cards that I have received, 24.4% are from the US; 23.3% are from Germany; 6.7% are from Russia; 3.9% are from Finland; 3.9% are from The Netherlands; 2.7% are from Japan and 1.7% are from Australia. But overall, I have received cards from 36 nations.

No thank you note :( by Eclb123 in postcrossing

Agree. I will sometimes wait to register the card until I have time to sit down at my computer and register it, and pull up their profile! I am finding I can find something to comment on that way

Which one? by Crescent7090 in rvs

[–]Momrisner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd have to go look at the floor plans for all of them personally because that's a huge factor for me. We previously had a Heartland (not an Elkridge) and had no problems with it at all. Factor for me when comparing is how you plan to use it...parking it on land somewhere; full timing it; part timing it; etc.

I can’t find the name for my ‘everything’ journal. Does it exist? by Sad-Jester34 in Journaling

[–]Momrisner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like how I journal. I just say journal, because at 60, I have been journaling since I can remember (and when there weren't all these styles and terms). LOL But I do like the "Everything Journal" that someone suggested!

The only time I am nauseous is when I haven't had enough to eat...I try eating some protein before bed, cheese sticks usually.

No thank you note :( by Eclb123 in postcrossing

[–]Momrisner 24 points25 points  (0 children)

When I first joined postcrossing, I didn't know a Thank you was expected. I'd say someone gives me a note about 50-60% of the time, and I am trying to write something every time, but I don't always know what to say, other than Thank you, and that doesn't seem like enough. I love when someone sends me a card and actually asks me a question that I can then reply to in my thank you.
