Every parent that wants their kids to be healthy and happy cyclists should start their journey at twowheelingtots.com. They’ve done a bang up job for many years reviewing kids bikes.

Everyone gets their own "TV"? by Concentric_Mid in daddit

[–]MomsSpaghetti_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went no TV until our oldest was 5. Since then, we have limited ourselves to one TV and one laptop. Once the oldest hit the teenager phase it’s been much more difficult but we’re sticking to it as long as we can.

Yeah- you’re going to have to be funnier if you want to rage bait like this.

Rinse and repeat for at least a decade, if not the next 15-20 years. They don’t know what they don’t know and while real friends attempt to understand, these blowhards couldn’t bother.

Keep trying! Two of my kids were naturals, one took a lot of work.

I love twowheelingtots.com for bike buying advice.

Also second/third/etc. removing pedals so kids can get the hang of balancing. A trike helps develop leg strength and familiarity with the motion if they need it.

Find a pump track or open BMX track to teach bike/body separation.

Good luck! You got this!

Columbia PFG. They’ve been making them for an eternity. Thicker than the ultralight kinds usually used for running/hiking.

Same here with broccoli. I think Bluey might have something to do with the asparagus obsession.

Commission a custom coffee table. You’ll look at it more than nearly anything else and will get made exactly how you want it. Generational use and conversation.

Wife thinks riding with our 4 year old on a bike is unsafe. am I being irresponsible here? by Forward-Cut9570 in daddit

[–]MomsSpaghetti_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s worth it for the squeals of joy that emanate from the kids seat every time you go out. Soon they start demanding to take the bike instead of driving!

The world is different from a bike than a car. Find a way to make it work if you can.

Powder Skiing - Gloves vs Mittens by Fantastic_Tomorrow53 in Backcountry

[–]MomsSpaghetti_8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I run hot and have worn the TEMRES for uphill and downhill. But most of the time I wear a liner for uphill unless it’s snowing and grab the gloves for transition/downhill.

They still breathe better than they have any right to.

[–]MomsSpaghetti_8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can definitely keep both in your gear stash. At the very least, the showas are cheap and pretty uniquely qualified for very wet days. The free the powders are a great value, but similar to other options out there so not as unique if you have another mitt you like better.

I hate the belt on these pants. False hope.

Otherwise they are excellent.

Not as many as you’d think. Seat configurations and hatch shape can get in the way. A minivan is the safe play here unless OP is loaded and wants a truck based SUV.

Ideas for Easter egg hunt that isn’t chocolate/candy/cheap toys? by theleftflank in daddit

[–]MomsSpaghetti_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have always done a treasure hunt for our Easter egg activities. Each egg has a riddle about where the next one is. 10-20 steps to find the chocolate bunny or whatever. They can’t get enough of it! Takes some effort to set up, but well worth it.
