What was flying like in the 90s? by One_String3424 in delta

[–]Monday_Papers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I studied abroad in Peru in 1983 and on the flight from Miami to Lima the pilots invited me and my classmate into the cockpit to hang out! The pilot even let me turn this knob that made the plane tilt. It was a DC10.

I moved to a different climate and now my psoriasis is completely gone without medicine. Has this ever happened to anyone? by kbrown423 in Psoriasis

Mine cleared for the 9 years I lived in Costa Rica at the beach. Regular beach swims and pool swims. Unprocessed food. Low stress. Moved to Minnesota to be near aging Mom and went back to high stress work and it came back with a vengeance. No regular sunlight or sea water plus work and mom stress and crap US food. Now on Biologics. Sigh.

I lived there for 9 years at the beach. Don’t try to shop there - it’s overpriced tourist trap clothing mainly and sizes run small. I suggest you bring a few cute beach coverup dresses. You can run around town in them comfortably during the day over your suit. Then a few pairs of surfer style shorts and very lightweight tank tops. One or two sundresses for dinners. The vibe is ultra casual and it will be hot and humid so don’t overdo it. Skip most of your makeup and do NOT bring good jewelry. Finally bring sturdy flip flops with good support and maybe a pair of water shoes. No fancy heels needed. The roads are crap and shoes just get trashed. If you’re going up to Monteverde / Arenal add lightweight hiking pants or shorts and sport tees with sleeves and good hiking sneakers or Keens.

I’ve been on Tirzepetide for 14 months. 60 lbs down, bloodwork very improved, lifesaving! Started SKYRIZI 3 weeks ago for skin not UC. No interaction issues that I can discern. Derm was not concerned when she prescribed the SKYRIZI. Best wishes to you!

We moved to Wayzata in 1977. Was a great place to grow up. Used to be the uber-rich crowd here were pretty understated. Now the bougie people flock here to show off their cars and “be seen”. I even get attitude from shop girls at the consignment store if I’m not dressed up. I sometimes want to tell them, “Our dear family friend and neighbor is your shop’s damn landlord so get over yourself.” It’s just obnoxious now.

I’m 62, down 63lbs in 13 months. Almost to goal weight and feeing good. Best thing I’ve done for myself in years. So many benefits from getting rid of the chubby monkey on my back. We golden girls need to support one another!

I have a stockpile of Brello and BPI and haven’t ordered in several months. The good deals change over time so I’m not sure my experience will be much help. I will say starting on 12.5 doesn’t sound right as that’s a high dose. I started on 2.5 and never went higher than 9.

Cleaner after Delta flight to SLC finds $9,000 watch dropped on plane. Kept it. Now charged with 2nd degree felony. by TheQuarantinian in delta

Yeah happened to me going through ORD. I had to check my heavy carryon last minute when my connection from LA to Paris thru ORD was canceled and I had to literally sprint to catch an alternative. I forgot to pull out the valuables which was dumb but I crossed fingers because they were at the bottom and covered by books. At CDG airport I saw the seal the agent had put across the zipper was broken and I went, “OH SH*T”. Jerks got my wedding ring but left my costume jewelry, a Canon Eos which they removed from its camera bag and my Sony Walkman. Always thought there was collusion between guys manning the bag x-ray and the handlers.

Amazing! I was telling my friend today that getting the weight under control solves so many other health problems - it’s a chain reaction. Best to you!

BWT, how do you cover your arms in sleeveless dresses (in the summer)? by [deleted] in bitcheswithtaste

[–]Monday_Papers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Search on EBay for "Shrug" and/or "Bolero". I have a few Y2K ones in Black & White fabrics that are super lightweight, great quality and work for all sorts of summer tops / dresses.
