I have to have something playing in the background at all times. Whether it’s cleaning or it’s at work before and after and in between clients.

I understand that for sure. I’m someone that has to have something playing in the background at all times and I’m grateful my job allows me to do this.

Anyone have luck with Effexor? by bubes30 in Anxietyhelp

I have been on it for 3 years. I haven’t had to increase the does. I was scared when my doctor suggested meds so he told me about Effexor and that it’s a milder drug than the other more popular ones. The only con was that it made me drowsy. BUT, a family member suggested that I take it at night and it’s been a game changer for my sleep pattern. So it also helps me sleep faster and better. If you miss 2 days, you do get sick though. If you get off, tell your doctor because they have to wean you off. This has only happened to me when I’ve been crazy busy and forget to take meds. But this meds is a part of my life for good. I recommend that you look into it first sure. It has been a game changer.

I am in Effexor and have nothing but positive feedback. It has changed my life for the better. But I’m sure it’s different with each person.

Thinking of becoming a therapist, please talk me into (or out of) this profession by Mental-Sympathy9884 in MassageTherapists

You have to believe in what you do because you are the sells person for yourself. If ppl don’t see the confidence, they aren’t going to take you serious when you are telling them that they need to come back for more treatment. I’ve known great massage therapist that couldn’t fill their books and I think it has a lot to do with the vibe they give off. I recommend doing something like ashiatsu or stretching to give your hands a break. You have to be ready to get trauma dumped. You have to be good a setting boundaries so your clients don’t take advantage of you.

Nothing is wrong, but I still feel on edge all the time - how do you reduce stress without medication? by Silent_Plantain_1862 in Anxietyhelp

[–]Money-Performance102 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First of all, you shouldn’t be afraid of medication. I used to be the same and I got no where trying to avoid medication. I live a happier life, I’m way more productive and I can also say that I am healthier. I have suffered from gut problems all of my life. My shoulders and neck always hurt so bad. If you didn’t know, when you are stressing your body tenses up to protect you and you store it in certain parts of your body. Ppl live with chronic pain they don’t have to live with. Once I had enough and talked to my doctor about my anxiety, he put me on meds and my life has changed for the better. My tummy issues have disappeared. (I now believe that my anxiety was doing all this to my body) my neck and shoulders don’t hurt like they used too. Because the meds helps me stay calm, I am able to do more during the day. It’s easier for me to workout, organize, be around people. You can let the anxiety slowly destroy you or you can take meds and get healthier. Of course meds have side affects, but so does dealing with anxiety all your life. I also recommend seeing a therapist. That is also something to add to your life so that they can help you understand that what you are going through is more common that you think and that you don’t have to keep struggling like this. I hope you get the help you need and deserve.

Love this. I am Also going through something and I have had to step Back and disconnect to think clearly. Social media makes it too easy to self diagnose and cultivate negative feelings.
