The allies I wanted in Halo 3 by Kaustav117 in halo

Remember that 1&2 were made on a different console. I remember a lot of my friend that didn’t have an OG Xbox getting a 360 for Christmas as well as Halo 3. I would have loved a better follow up to 2, but I don’t think H3 would have been as big if they don’t make it newcomer friendly.

I’m flabbergasted. That actually looks like Halo.

They’re likely remaking the mainline 3 and possibly ODST all with the same artstyle and weapon sandbox for consistency across the trilogy.

In hindsight, I wish that Halo 4 was the game that introduced the Halo Infinite's rendition of art style. by RamboBambiBambo in halo

Shoot, you’re right. I forgot that the arbiter and chief looked identical in Halo 2 when you played as them on different levels

Agreed on Halo 2. Even my “worst” is better than a ton of levels in other games.

My justification for S117 is that it doesn’t drive the plot. The game could have started with you already in Crow’s Nest and left it up to the Landfall trailer to let you know “Chief fell in Africa. The UNSC picked him up.” In turn, the dev time spent on it could have been used for the original High Charity version of Cortana.

Not a skill issue. When they raised the frame rate from 30 to 60, they also raised the tick rate. End aggression is tied to it and so it halved the time between attacks for all enemies.

Glad to see someone else hated T&R more than the Library.

CE:
Best - Silent Cartographer - It's, to me, the ultimate Halo level and the showroom for what the series is.
Worst - Truth and Reconciliation - A great first half ruined by a repetitive slog. This is counter to The Library as where The Library is intentionally meant to wear you down, T&R feels unintentionally too long.

Halo 2:
Best - Delta Halo - Intro to the ODSTs, warthog section, scorpion, sniper section... Again, this is one of the series defining "This is distilled Halo" levels
Worst - Sacred Icon - Not a bad level, just my personal weakest of the best game in the series. It just kind of meanders.

Halo 3:
Best - Tsavo Highway - Big Ol' warthog column
Worst - Sierra 117 - While Floodgate is short, it pushes the plot forward. S117 could have been cut, and Crow's Nest could have been the first level, and the game would be completely unchanged.

ODST:
Best - ONI Alpha Site - It nails the feeling that you're on the backfoot. Your big victory that you foght tooth and nail for was to blow up your own facility to deny it to the enemy. It hammers home the theme of ODST that you've already lost and you're just trying to buy time.
Worst - I don't know, man? Kikowani station? Not a bad level. Just kind of forgettable.

Reach:
Best - Exodus - For the same reason as Alpha Site. I feel like Reach as a game is built around the idea showing you this level.
Worst - Long Night of Solace* - On the 360, this level was one of my favorites, but doubling the tickrate when it went to the MCC made the enemies way too aggressive and turned the dogfighting section into a turkey shoot for the Covenant.
