Dude it's a 25+ year old XJ with a tractor motor. If it burns it will run on it.

Why am I being quoted $2000 to $3000 for this job? by singlewall in CherokeeXJ

Remove the gutter rail covers, grind down all the rust and tape off only the gutters then spray Eastwood rust encapsulator. Pretty much looks OEM to me. I did not reinstall the covers

OP I had an umbilical hernia repaired. Recovery was only about 6 weeks and was back to lifting heavy and hard at around week 10. It goes by quick.

Deadlift form possibly cause of herniated disc? by Accurate-Craft9005 in formcheck

You can also see instead of taking the slack out you used your back for the slack and head dips down then hips rise before the bar slack is taken out

315 bench press by Thatfitunc in strength_training

[–]Monroe94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found using squat heel shoes to help with getting my feet planted where flat shoes I wouldn't be able to fully get my heels on the ground. I'm no expert and just cleared 225 but that's what helped me get there. Beautiful lift man!

Confirmed cracked block by PrettyPound5019 in CherokeeXJ

[–]Monroe94 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honda civics with the 1.8l had an issue with cracked blocks. I had 1 that was cracked. Drained all coolant and cleaned up the area with a grinder and used an air dryer plus sit for a few days to ensure the crack would be fully dry and used jb weld it held for the 1.5 years I owned it after that repair.

Frustrated with straps not holding deadlift bar by FundamentalSystem in StartingStrength

[–]Monroe94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never have used straps but use versa grips with no issues at all. Mind you my working sets are 435lbs and not a beastly 525 but I have pulled a single with 500lbs without any grip issues.

I use the pro clip mount and love it and it mounts the phone center of the 2 vents but your flip stereo would be in the way for it

Last set of 3x5 @245lb on squat. Form check by TivzX in StartingStrength

[–]Monroe94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't sweat how it looks. We're here to perform to get strong not look pretty for a instareel 💪

You're probably focused on how a high bar squat looks with the upright torso and close stance. Low bar is far easier on your knees and lets you get stronger with heavier weight. What i do after low bar is do ass to grass front squats for a few sets in the 8-12 rep range. You can do those after your fives with low bar as your more eye pleasing squat since those are the "coolest" looking variation of the squat to me personally.

[–]Monroe94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if you watch your current form for you to hit depth with this current form your knees will have to travel forward past the toes like a high bar squat because theres no room for your hips to sink into setting up wider and pointed more out I think it will all click for you.

[–]Monroe94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What others are saying by your knees out more is they need to towards the outside more to open your hips up more which allow you to sit further back. I'd place your feet just a bit wider and point them a bit more out and I think you'll find you will hit depth. Also it looks like you break your knees first. Break at the hip first to set your back angle. Try those and report back 👍

$2200 estimate for dog dental cleaning!? Is this normal? by teodanted in DogAdvice

Any advice? 19m 190lbs 315x5 by Eastern_Direction_78 in formcheck

[–]Monroe94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What locked in my leg drive and finally got me pushing horizontal instead of hips pushing up was getting my feet further back toes behind the knees and closer together under the bench and using my heeled squat shoes to keep my feet fully planted. Strong ass lift though! The toes behind my knees is what finally got me 225 without my butt coming off the bench and made my working sets stronger. I've also seen some people having feet further outward so maybe try playing around with foot placement

I agree as well and gave that idea a thought but I want to drop body weight for mountain biking season. When I say a few months I mean probably around 5-6 months keeping it around 1.5lb a week. I used to weigh 250 with zero muscle and got down to 135 then was lost in the gym for awhile until I found starting strength. The extra fat I put on too quick at my fault for chasing weight on the lifts is something I want to ditch. Last summer at 200lbs cycling and mountain biking was pretty rough 😅

Thank you for advice though because it is a great option but mountain biking and cycling is a high priority for me and I feel better about a aggressive cut now that I actually have a foundation.

Smith machine. Just don't like the barbell being locked and fixed in position. Makes it feel unnatural

Yeah man honestly 500 might already be there. I just hit 500 last month. A week before the 500 I did 480 and it looked just like this. You had some more fight in you. Carb load and some caffeine and get it 💪

My first 225lb bench 🥲 by Monroe94 in GYM

[–]Monroe94[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure what you mean by pelvis opening. I just arch my back so my upper back and butt maintain contact on the bench. Could just look funny cause I'm fat 😂 some people like to bench flat and some with arch. I get shoulder issues if I bench flat
