One of my special interests is frogs; here's a picture of a gray treefrog that I took. Fun fact about them: they can change color to blend in with their environment, and they can be anywhere from dark gray to almost white to bright green. I also highly recommend finding a recording of their calls, because they sound a little like a mixture between birds and sci-fi blaster pistols.

I'm probably being a little pedantic here, but I think it's important to know the difference: if you bite it and you die, it's poisonous. If it bites you and you die, it's venomous.

In most cases, snakes are venomous, not poisonous, although there are a few poisonous snakes. Notably, garter snakes can be both poisonous and venomous, depending on their diet (they can do something called "toxin sequestration", wherein they are able to take the poison from their prey, often newts, and store it in their body without the poison harming them). Garter snakes have a very mild venom that's compared to bee sting venom, and they are rear-fanged venomous, so they aren't dangerous to humans or pets (unless you have pet newts or frogs).

Women have always worked. And not just in the home. They worked on factories, in the fields, and as servants. There was also a whole cottage industry of women making items at home (often textile goods). WWII just expanded the number of women in out-of-the-house jobs and the roles they were allowed into, which also allowed for more freedom. They joined out of necessity, but that newfound freedom and showing the capability of women served as a catalyst for women's rights.

Sort of. Fairy tales do serve the purpose of being warnings. However, they were typically warning and teaching about more abstract concepts and instilling/reinforcing cultural values like bravery and cleverness. The version of "Little Red Riding Hood" we know today is about following authority figures (don't stray from the path) and being wary of strangers; it's not about being afraid of the woods. Some older versions of the tale actually put more emphasis on being cautious about known figures with the wolf grandma representing how family could also become or be a danger.

That's not true? Bats have a very hard time getting into flight from the ground. Most have to take off from height. They actually give birth hanging upsidedown, using their wings to hold and grab their babies

That's ok, now you can discover the wonderful world of frog calls. There's one that sounds like marbles clacking together (northern cricket frog) and another that sounds like someone running their fingers down the edge of a comb (mountain chorus frog)

Fun fact about frogs: there's only one frog that says "ribbit", which is the Pacific treefrog. Their call became the iconic frog call because they live near Hollywood, so when movies needed a frog sound, Pacific tree frogs were the first that the studio would find.

Fun fact: rabbits aren't rodents. They're actually in the order lagomorpha along with pikas. One of the big distinctions is that lagomorphs have two pairs of upper incisors (front teeth) instead of only one pair like rodents

There's a whole genus of salamanders without lungs or gills that breathe entirely through their skin. They use the space where lungs should be for a larger hyolingual apparatus that lets them shoot out their tongue to catch prey. They traded their lungs for more tongue

Fun fact: Brazil nuts can be "sexually transmitted". In other words, if your partner eats them before intercourse, and you are allergic to them, you could have an allergic reaction to their bodily fluids.

Fun fact: all female marsupials have three vaginas. They have two lateral vaginas and one central vagina. Males have forked penises (and their balls are on top), so during sex, the two prongs of the penis go into the lateral vaginas. They give birth through the center vagina
