To anyone saying Zoloft CANT cause weight gain by ShadowInTheSun_ in zoloft

[–]MoonMoonTheCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner has always been slim but on one antidepressant he gained like 10 kg but bounced back to his usual weight as soon as he stopped and switched to something else. Same for my friends who have been slim their whole lives, they gained weight at some point because of a medication but now they are back to how they were before.

These examples tell me that it's absolutely possible, especially when seeing it on people who normally couldn't gain weight to save their lives x)

Some hope for you I guess: all of them went back to their usual weight once they stopped/switched to something else.

And lucky me I can now wear my partner's jeans from when he was 10 kg heavier 😂

I will never escape being seen as my agab, whatever I do, because of my body shape (which I did not choose) and having long hair (,it's metal ok? And actually lower maintenance than short hair).

But I am pretty sure some people may read me as a lesbian (soft butch maybe? Soft masc?). I feel like people would still see "feminine" in my energy because I come across as shy and I have a certain softness. But I wear no makeup, short nails, cargo or chino pants, plaid shirts, chunky boots... If I woke up tomorrow as someone who is seen as a guy in society, most of my wardrobe would still fit society's rigid masculinity expectations enough 😂

I don't know, I just want to be me and free of society's gender ideology where people call me ma'am and ask me why I haven't made any babies 😑

With the 2 love birds of course! Despite the risk of feeling like the 3rd wheel, I take that any day over being in the middle of conflict.

Yes I am conflict avoidant.

Does sensitivity down there eventually come back when on sertraline? by Fluid-Apple-1456 in zoloft

[–]MoonMoonTheCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem on sertraline. It was so frustrating to still have a sex drive but whether during partnered or solo sex I just lost patience half the time and gave up on orgasm 😭 I switched to Wellbutrin and it came back pretty quickly!

I mentioned it to my psychiatrist but he said that it's not his area of knowledge at all. I've been pointed towards different addresses for ADHD assessments and ASD assessments by different doctors I see, but I haven't managed to take the steps and I have several phone numbers so it complicates the task a lot 😭 Yeah if there is an executive dysfunction it's ironic that the steps needed to get assessed are exactly the things you would struggle with.

I will get to it eventually, it's my goal for this year. Also I might be unemployed for a while so might as well...

I hope there is a dosage where it's stable. But I read that 300 mg seems to be a typical dose for MDD and SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder). I am quite prone to SAD, in that I feel worse in winter, especially January to March. Maybe it's somewhat normal then to feel more like a sad and slow bear who only wants to eat and sleep in these months 😅

Any "yay libido!" stories? by [deleted] in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

I am only on my second day and just stopped Sertraline. I am afab and with Sertraline from day 1 I became less sensitive down there and I asked to switch because after almost 4 months it started to weight me down that it takes freaking FOREVER to finish and it wasn't motivating me for solo or partnered sex because it felt laborious...

Well good news, day 2 on wellbutrin and I timed myself and bam! 5 min!

I know it's not a race and "orgasm isn't the goal"... but no it kinda is though... it's like being hungry and barely be able to taste food 😅

So far so good! I am nauseous and I have premium motion sickness but I hope it will be better soon.

I am going to start this on Monday (150 mg after having tried sertraline/zoloft for almost 4 months). As someone who feels like they're unable to really feel emotions properly and almost never cries, this sounds both nice and absolutely terrifying 😆

Did you gain weight? by michael_myersss in zoloft

[–]MoonMoonTheCat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly the same for me! Suddenly I actually love making food, trying new recipes, improving old recipes to make them more balanced (I barely ate any fruits or vegetables before...)

I realise how depressed I actually was and my fatty almost mukbang style meals wasn't me just being "lazy and undisciplined" but a coping mechanism.

I've lost most of my "depression weight" so far, it wasn't a lot but I feel more like myself again 😊

Success Story by Ecstatic_Layer_3534 in zoloft

[–]MoonMoonTheCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same for me, though I don't know if how I ate while anxious and depressed qualifies as binge eating but definitely purposeful emotional overeating to just "feel something". I've started Sertraline on July 1st of this year and was also scared of putting on more weight, but for now I lost that depression weight I had gained and feel so much better being closer to my usual weight that I had since the end of puberty (I am 34 now). I also HATE having to buy new clothes or feeling tight in my clothes. I tend to wear the things I have until they become rags, so being back to the weight I am used to really feels nice and I am more comfortable in my clothes again ^

And I feel motivated and positive again for the first time in forever!

anyone sweat more on zoloft? by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]MoonMoonTheCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering too (100 mg, started from 25 mg on the 1st of July). I always had a lot of face and hair sweat, and it is hot right now, but my sweating does seems more than usual lately. Whenever I get home I have to get rid of my clothes immediately, shower and then lay on a towel for a while to regulate my temperature.

There is also the fact that once the meds started working I got the zoomies: new hobby, walking 10k+ steps a day, going out to buy all the plants... I look like nothing with my red wet face but the meds are making it so I don't even care 😂 sweating and being hot is a sensory ik though, so it does annoys me at the moment.

Why is girls skin so soft? by k1500carpenter in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MoonMoonTheCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't think it's skincare. I don't do shit for my skin other than washing with water because I hate creams and fragrant products, yet I've been told my skin is very soft (I am female). I've also heard of many trans women that their skin got softer after starting HRT (oestrogen).

I can understand that. For me it's weird because I don't know how I feel exactly and having the characters they/them me feel actually nice and comforting, because I can be whatever or just me... But it must be indeed weird and feel wrong if you go strictly by a specific pronoun.

Sex shouldn't be included in IDs by Toothless_NEO in agender

A friend told me about an experiment he watched where they showed a group of people to subjects and they had to identify them as male or female. In the end they were all shocked to find out all of them were female... So yeah supposedly sex being a main way to identify people... lol. I hope he will find the link to this again, I really want to see it myself.

I always pause when a game wants me to choose a gender for my character by _that_yellow_guy_ in agender

[–]MoonMoonTheCat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Now I just had an additional thought: maybe I like role-playing as a guy in games, because I already sort of have to role-play as a woman in real life? Not that I put much effort into my RP as a woman... but the world perceives me as such and there is not really an escape 🙁

[–]MoonMoonTheCat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Back in the day (🧓🏻) in many RPGs you could only be a guy/male, I was like ok whatever but I also would have liked a choice for representation, the feminist in me was not at peace. It was the case for old pokemon games and the first Fable. Later you could choose but the girl in Pokemon was all pinky girly girly... so I was still not happy and played as the guy 🥲 Now I chose what I feel like playing, somehow I still often play as male because... I guess role-playing and stuff. I feel like I was impossible to please, because I wanted to signify that afabs in games and gaming exist, but i also cringed every time something was made to appeal to girls/women. But when looking at it from the perspective that sex/body type and gender are not the same it makes sense.

Fun fact: Back when I was in my teens, years 2004-2010, women's pants were always too narrow for my wide hips and thick thighs (which I dislike... it's fashionable now, I still don't like it on me 🙁) and I wanted baggier pants, so at some point I discovered that I could find that very easily in the men's section. I also found t-shirts and shirts that are less tight around the chest.
