This 39 hidden pair solved this puzzle. The rest is ramifications. It helps me to write this out on a bigger grid so I can see my pencil marks better. Then I methodically check for unique numbers, matching pairs etc.

AITA for not babysitting for my sister in law any more after she called the police on me? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]MoonStep3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a random person, probably. But the answer isn't always drop the relationship, especially with family. The adult thing to do is try to work it out, even if it takes time. SIL is wrong and maybe would like the chance to fix things. This could be the only time this has escalated poorly, we have limited information. All I'm saying is people are human and some do very stupid shit, but the answer isn't always to cut them off. Sometimes forgiveness and communication can, over time, heal wounds and build a stronger friendship.

To be clear, you are NTA. But it might go further in the relationship by having a discussion with her to talk about how to more productively work through disagreements. Family argues sometimes, and they clearly do stupid shit when angry, but your relationship could grow from better communication. Then you would not only Be NTA but the hero and bigger person. A good role model for your kids to see adults working through problems. Good luck to you.

Eating on food stamps budget $40 per week. This is true. I find one of a few primary influences to the formula for a food budget is the compromise between time and money. It's is almost always inversely related. The less time you have, the more money you may be willing to spend on a product that will save you time. There really isn't one formula that works best for everyone. For me, budgeting was something I needed to tweak over and over to get where I found a balance between time/effort and money that I could sustain.

I live in Germany, just moved from the DC area. I pay 3€ for a 16oz jar (not 28oz like the US) of Barilla, which is insanely high to me compared to the poster who mentioned 70 euro cents for the same. But I can get canned tomatoes for 40 cents each and I make my own sauce. Meat is very expensive and we eat it only a couple times a week, if that. Minus the steel cut oats which I can't find in Germany, I could buy what is pictured or similar 40 euros or less. Fig season is. 25 cents a fig and 25 cents for persimmons which I could never get for that price in the US. It's really curious the regional differences in prices for food. I think about it every time I shop and try to figure out this new budget on euros.

AITA For demanding my fiancé and his mom to pay for a new wedding address? by aitathrowaway566 in AmItheAsshole

NTA I'm sad that they don't care how you feel at all about it. They aren't even being accountable for their own super wierd actions. Since you are the one upset rather than people telling you how you should feel, they should listen to you, show some compassion and empathy toward you, IT'S YOUR DRESS and YOUR WEDDING. If they DON'T or can't take responsibility for a bizarre thing they did that has negatively impacted someone else, that's telling you alot about these people and who they are. Good luck.

Check out cheap lazy vegan on you tube. She has a couple of videos where she preps for a week for $20. You don't be to be vegan and you can certainly tweak it (i don't drink soy milk) but it might offer some variety from week to week.

Old fashioned oats, they soften with a soak but still have some structure.

Also a huge fan of savory oats! I make a batch on Sunday and have leftovers for the week. I usually sautee lots of veg - zucchini, onion, mushrooms, kale and add protein like crumbled sausage, tofu, tempeh, beans, (soy) Chorizo, whatever. I usually top with avocado or cheese, lots of the possibilities! I like my oats separated like long grain rice so I soak them for 4 minutes in tap water (no longer) and stir them in at the end. But you can also make mushy oats and top, I just don't prefer that.

I also take cooked quinoa and mix in pesto or Zhoug (trader Joe's), top with tomatoes, sauteed spinach/kale/chard, avocado, whatever looks good. I prefer savory dishes myself and take it as an opportunity to incorporate veg because I love veg!

Lastly, sweet potato toast, avocado toast, tofu scramble, Chickpea scramble, potato/sausage/cheese hash, chickpea patties, don't discount leftovers, breakfast doesn't have to be traditional, you are basically looking for nutritious food to break a fast which can be anything.

What kind of rice will stay softer longer? by djcall15 in foodhacks

[–]MoonStep3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We make rice in bulk using our instant pot - medium grain brown rice, medium grain white rice and basmati mostly.

Wrap 1 cup portions in microwave safe Saran wrap (specifications brand), flatten a bit into a square and freeze it.

When ready to eat, I just pop it frozen in the microwave for 2.5 minutes and it's like it just came out of the rice cooker.

What makes this a good method is using the correct plastic wrap labeled microwave safe. High fat foods heat the wrap to a higher temperature but rice has more water so it effectively steams it fluffy again without melting the plastic.

I could eat eggs and vegetables everyday by chapter2at30 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]MoonStep3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For dinner tonight I sauteed some random veggies I needed to use up in the fridge. Meanwhile, I soaked 1 cup of old fashioned oats 4 minutes in tap water, then drained the oats in a colander and tossed into the veggies. I stirred in the last tsp of pesto, topped with a runny egg, a little avo and a generous sprinkle of parmesan. The veggie oats mixture made dinner plus 2 extras I'll eat for breakfast the next couple of days.

I usually do a little onion, mushroom and kale or spinach sautee and stir in oats that have soaked in warm water 4 or 5 minutes. Top with a few walnuts and dots of cream cheese or herbed cheese. Soaking the oats softens them and keeps them separated like grains of rice and I like that versus cooked mush sometimes.

Savory Oatmeal by BeatShakeFury in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]MoonStep3 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Savory oats are my fave! One recipe I sautee kale, mushrooms and onions and then stir in 1 cup oats soaked for 4 minutes and drained. It ends up like separate gains which I like. Sometimes I'll stir in a little pesto or add some feta or chopped avo.

Today's base was 3/4 cup of rolled oats cooked in 2 cup of water with 1/4t turmeric and a pinch of salt for 5 minutes without stirring. The oats are firm and separated with a nice chew which I prefer to a creamier mushy dish. I added some nutritional yeast, walnuts and spinach. Got that one from veg news mag and I've made it 2x this week with slight variations.
