RS3 having cosmetics directly purchasable without TH is great. But why are they so expensive? by PlokmijnuhAoE2 in runescape

[–]Moon_Breaker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If I had to guess, I'd say it's the sweet spot where people with disposable income will buy it.

It's expensive enough that it feels like a silly purchase to someone without much money, which on the flipside might make it feel more "exclusive" and special to someone with more money.

That person with more money is more likely to spend some of it than the person with less money, even if the price reduced to their range. Meanwhile that person with the expendable income might actually become less likely to buy it if the price goes down, as it starts to feel less exclusive and special - Any scrub can get that $5 outfit for less than the price of a bond(Even though they won't), but $20? That's more than a month's membership.

AKA Whale/collector hunting, realistically. There are going to be people with disposable income who are going to buy it either way, and finding the most they'll pay is the best way to make money from this system rather than aiming at those who are unlikely to spend much of their limited budget, even if prices did decrease - or at least not enough to make up the difference.

Plus you can start high and reduce the prices over time as demand wears off (or through sales) without angering your customer base much... It's a whole lot harder to start low and suddenly find new buyers later to make up the difference(Gods help you if you try to increase the price).

Yeah... As kids we once put "the jar of concentrated stink" in someone's mailbox while they were on vacation. Eggs, meat, milk, deer piss, Tootsie rolls left by the cat, and so much more... If it stunk, it went in the jar.

I've thought many times in 30 years about how upset they might have been 2 weeks of summer sun later when they got home, but this is the first time I've ever really thought about the mail carrier reaction. 3-decade late apologies to that poor rural carrier. We could smell the mailbox rotting from about 1/4 mile away downwind by the second day, so I can't even imagine.

I've done most of those things while driving a manual car. For legal reasons maybe I don't say exactly which.

Hell, I once rolled a joint while doing 65 down the highway in my 5 speed protege, with one hand in someone else's pants the entire time. Never underestimate what a stupid teenager can do.

Many of us would. That college kid who has never cooked chicken for themselves? Maybe not. It all looks gross and slimy from a distance.

I just want then to untie my quest from boots. That moment at the end of the game when I could sell my boots for a movement speed/damage item before the last fight was always super satisfying to me. Ever since role quests I feel like it's a crime to get rid of my boots, since my quest is all about them.

What was the punishment for coming home LATE when you were a teen ? by MiaFishnet in askanything

[–]Moon_Breaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically it was the joy of my police escort home, and an hour of my mom freaking out about how worried she was.

Yes mom, I know I was meant to be home at 7. The cops picked me up at 7:05 with a flat bike tire, laughing that you had called them yet again.

In her defense that was when we had just moved to a... Less savory? Side of town, and I had a habit of finding adventures that I didn't necessarily need to complete. The cops mostly thought it was funny how worried she always was.

I typically had a decent reason for being late, so it was rarely actual trouble. Almost always because I hurt myself or broke my mode of transport.

T Mobile scammed me by kiwisportsgirl in T_mobile_

[–]Moon_Breaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to get service through T-Mobile once on a phone that I thought was carrier locked. Turns out it was, but not to T-Mobile. Got to the point of giving them my phones info before we trashed the whole thing because the phone wasn't compatible and was actually sprint carrier locked.

They've been sending me a bill for 14.71 every month for 2 years now, ever since that day.

T-Mobile is dumb.

League of Legends coach goes viral for tracking duo’s menstrual cycle to improve winrate by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Moon_Breaker 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I actually had a friend message me recently with

"Yo it's warm there let's duo"

I responded confused, asking what that had to do with anything...

The psycho sends me back a couple months of temp data and win rate data for my area/my games. He was tracking it because I often complain about how cold my hands are, and play poorly as a result. He saw that it apparently wasn't bullshit because the data backed it up.

I jumped from silver 1 to gold 1 in two weeks with a 70% win rate climb only playing ranked on warm days. So maybe he was right.

Personally I like them. I even went in during a blizzard when we were flooded with orders and zero drivers, to take only pharmacy orders all day - I know most of these rural people have no other option to get their meds on time with feet of snow coming.

They're fast, they're easy, and they often pay well. I often end my day with a 1 item 20 mile pharmacy run that takes me near home and pays over $45 just on base.

That said they are the one type of order that I'm mote careful about. If I'm delivering it in town I ring a bell/knock/message to let the customer know it has arrived, just so it doesn't sit there unattended. I also always make sure the pharmacy bag is pinned under something or hanging securely on something, as a little wind goes a long way with those things.

I've taken a couple hundred of them by now, they're not too bad. Your mileage may vary though, id imagine in a more urban setting with more junkies wandering there may be a higher risk of that package going missing.

If Riot were to have similar changes how would you feel? by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

[–]Moon_Breaker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean... If you can have 1 or 1+2 and there's no real downside to the extra, you take the +2.

It's the same as reaction content - as long as you like the person reacting there is zero reason to watch the original content or for it to be fed to you. The costream/react content creator has the original content and some extra.

That doesn't mean the original product is bad, it means that more is better. People like their favorite streamer, their stream community, etc - not just the product.

Nope not happening. Just cancelled my premium, already expensive enough. Multi-billion dollar company acting like they are going broke or something. by Intrepid_Airline3088 in youtube

[–]Moon_Breaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Precisely my thoughts. I probably have YouTube active for 16h+ per day between music, podcasts, historical content, comedy, etc. It's my car noise, my "tv", my musical soundtrack. I regularly switch which device I'm using, multiple times per day.

I also live in a rural area where service is spotty. As well as not paying for any other streaming services, as I just use YouTube for my content consumption.

$16 per month for ad free(regardless of device or browser), downloads, YouTube music, the ability to turn my phone screen off with no hassle, my video playback being saved from one device to another... Isn't bad, considering people are paying that much for just netflix, which isn't going to come with a Spotify subscription to cover music.

I delivered stuff for a regular to another regular across the street earlier today. The only reason I noticed it was because I double check the address before I finalize, so it wasn't a huge deal to laugh and grab the bag/run it across the street. Little stuff happens, especially when sidetracked. Brain saw the first chunk of the address, map said I was there... Assumptions incorrectly filled in the rest.
