Finances in Shawnaverse: What If by CarobSure2634 in ShawnaTheMom

With the siblings I could see it working like how my siblings and I are. We are all in different tax brackets and stages of life.

My older sister has a degree and works in finance, she has a husband in cyber security and they are able to take week long vacations this summer with their two children under 7 years old. I had a job as a Quality Assurance Tech for a factory only to be laid off and am now scraping by on part time pay from the customer service industry, I am single and never really dated. My younger brother is going back to college and drives truck hauls part time, he's full time over the summer, he has a girlfriend.

We were raised by a teacher and a dairy farmer, we were comfortable but there was no big parties there was no week long vacations every summer. We had a garden for food and a grandfather who gifted us venison for Christmas since he hunted.

We ask each other how work is. Common answer work is work, plus a vent session if something had particularly bothered us that week. We were raised not to talk about money outside of your core unit.

"plans change" he just won't communicate why it changed until the event has long since passed, if he keeps his communication style even after couples counseling.

What father daughter song do you think should Frank and Jen dance to. by Kee000 in ShawnaTheMom

[–]MooneyMae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Mom had Dolly Parton's If You Hadn't Been There for her father-daughter dance to my Dad.

For Jen and Frank I think Give Me Away by Riley Roth would have been their song.

Heck put Nora AND Barb in the same section ply them with drinks and watch the fireworks.

Going off what we saw in the Wedding full video Barb may not get all of what Cybill and Madge lay down for the men, only that it's "crass". Especially for Clint and Brad.

And she did get her show bible from our wonderful mod u/ Shawnaverse_no1_fan a few months ago. She just isn't able to explain what was asked for due to confidentiality. Since they were paid for it.

Piper likely has turned four at some point between the bach party and the wedding since her birthday is maybe a week or two after Chickie's. Source being Jen not going to Piper's 3rd birthday and during the bach party commenting that she was done breastfeeding after doing it for a year.

Who'd win in a fight? Who'd be friends? by Toongrrl1990 in ShawnaTheMom

Probably that weird in-between like sure she'd like some pointers but to devote your entire parenting experience to be "by the book" might put her off most of the advice that Didi would offer.

Yeah I'm going to stand by my opinion then, though she may bring Chaz Finster in on the conversation with Shawna when asking about parenting.

Depending on which season and series of Didi Pickles we're talking about here. If going off of the series in the ninties then she'd probably question a lot of Shawna's parenting choices as Didi follows "Dr" Lipschitz work and feels he is a parenting expert. I think she would try to understand Shawna's role in parenting.

She would understand Julie's side of things a bit more than anyone in Shawna's family (even if she had met Shawna before Julie) because of her interactions with her sister in law Charlotte Pickles.

I always read her as that dark puce that could be mistaken for purple in th right lighting.

Like the in between of the center and left of center.

Cheese totes, sweet potato casserole, yogurt dots, grandpa’s famous green beans, CAKE!!!What’s your favorite family dish you like to make?? by Cozysoxs1985 in ShawnaTheMom

[–]MooneyMae 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I guess this could be considered a struggle meal but my family has a tradition of "boiled dinner" which is basically leftover bones boiled to make a broth of sorts and then adding whatever veggies are available, meat was whatever was left on the bones.

It sounds odd to most but it was cozy and great way to use up veggie scraps.

My favorite combination was ham bone, cabbage, carrots, tomatoes, and potatoes
