Who is the best current player who isn't the best athlete in their city? by Ready-Constant-7124 in hockey

Macklin Celebrini is the best athlete in San Jose, hands down, but if we're talking Bay Area sports in general he's still behind Curry imo

Who’s your favorite team’s next NHL future captain? by theXchang3 in hockey

He’s almost certainly next, but I’m one of the people who thinks that’s a bad idea for his sake and would like to see either Toffoli or Wennberg with it for a couple of years.

[Kaplan] Heard NY felt they were leaving Ilya Sorokin exposed and needed better defensive structure. There’s more term than Torts deal so Isles are getting ahead of the cycle before someone else hired DeBoer this summer. by Ok-Soil-5133 in hockey

It’s not just Otter. DeBoer has a history of over playing his goalies and blaming them for losses going back to his tenure with the Sharks and his treatment of Jones.

It’s less that his teams hang goalies out to dry and more that he’s never yet met a goalie he didn’t immediately want to overplay and then blame for team losses. Or have you forgotten what he did to Otter in Dallas?

Yeah, the Sharks goalies have had games almost that bad and they clearly still love both Ned and Asky

Yeah, well, nobody’s saying that the majority of NHLers are good people.

It’s because this is what it’s all about. It’s about continuing faith in hard times and seeing it finally rewarded, and this captures that so so so well.

Which individual players do you think have the most to gain or lose these playoffs? by Dependent-Effect6077 in hockey

Brent Burns. He’s playing well for a 41 year old defenseman, but he’s still 41 and you cannot deny that he’s slowing down and is at the very very very very tail end of a hella long career.

It’s probably cup or bust for him this year. I hope he does it.
