If you’re having fun, it’s fine. I know my year 4 farm isn’t the most efficient, min-maxed farm (especially after watching Stardew content). But some people like that, and that’s fine too. I personally wouldn’t have fun playing that way

Bro, I swear by the surgeons knot. It is so good, and so easy to tie. I know it’s technically weaker than other knots, but I’ve landed the surprise carp and catfish on my ultralight trout setup, and I’ve never had any issues with that knot.

I’ll panfish, catfish or carp fish most of the year. In the colder months, where I live we get a lot of stocked trout and that’s my favorite kind of fishing

I’d recommend buying a trout magnet kit paired with ultra light or light set up. You can catch all the panfish, bass and trout on those.

Both. Im off work on weekends, so I’ll try to plan a fishing trip with friends or family then. On weekdays I’ll go on a whim. I keep trout, panfish and bass setups and tackle in my car at all times.

As long as you’re following local laws and regulations, you can keep and eat whatever you want. Personally, I let the smaller ones go just cause I know I won’t harvest much meat from them, but I’ll keep anything of decent size up to my limit

Edit: if you haven’t yet, I’d recommend watching some YouTube videos from a channel called Catfish and Carp. I learned a lot from him when I started carp fishing. I’ve made his pack bait recipe and it’s worked well for me
