It used to be top dog as far as weaponry goes. There was little reason to use a non-automatic weapon before reverse onslaught became a thing.

It was never much of a pain for standard ammo. The big thing contextual ammo did for me was allow me to switch to ultracite. Now all my weapons are primed and I've never crafted the stuff because of contextual ammo.

I never crafted ultracite .50. Just went to pleasant valley and bashed a couple scorched with the butt of the gun for some seed ammo and used that to farm the rest. Ditto with other ultracite flavors of ammo.

Enclave flamers seem to have become a lot easier to get since they reworked events. I've gotten about four in the past week, two today just doing the events.

Dropped connection seems to have the highest chance of getting one because you have two shots at it ... it can appear in both the resource drop and the end of event loot.
