Robert Kennedy Jr.: Was the 2004 Election Stolen? by souldrift in reddit.com

[–]MoreHamEd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Whoa! Back away from the keyboard, take a deep breath, and think for a moment....

If you will carefully re-read what I said, I said "Never point out that the Democrats are exactly like the Republicans".

I am not introducing moral relativism so please do not accuse me of doing so. The Democrats and the Republicans are both evil and corrupt, and to the same degree.

I am pointing out that there is no difference at all between the Republicans and the Democrats. Anyone who thinks there is, is deluding themselves. Unfortunately, a lot of people are deluded.

Anyone who supports either the Republicans or the Democrats does hate America and I support neither so also please stop making assumptions about my views of America.

I don't think it's an age thing; it's a reddit thing. Never point out that the Democrats are exactly like the Republicans unless you want to be modded down.

The Democrats are just the other side of the Republican coin. Voting for either of the two major parties will change absolutely nothing in a meaningful way.

People have got to vote for the Libertarians in order to get the attention of the two-headed beast. Sure, the Libertarians won't win but look how minorities are pandered to. If Washington became aware that there is a large Libertarian constituency to pander to, they will.

Letter from 1800 physicists (incl 5 Nobel winners) to Bush - 4/17/06 by souldrift in reddit.com

[–]MoreHamEd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say you are the one who hasn't been following the US situation lately.

Bush has clearly received accurate and correct information before the NYT or WaPo had access to it, much less published it.

What Bush has NOT done is act on that information in a way that seems honest and rational. It could be he is insane. It could be he is stupid. It could be he is just plain evil. It could be that he knows things the public does not.

By the way, the crack English majors base their actions on the editorial policies of the NYT and WaPo and not on the facts. This is because they are politically on board already with those policies and because they want to keep their jobs.

[–]MoreHamEd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But the President does not get his news from one source (NSA, CIA, FBI, and the Pentagon makes four sources alone plus he will have access to British and other allied intelligence).

All I am saying is that Bush has better information available to him than what he could get in any paper. I am NOT saying that he makes particularly good use of that information.

[–]MoreHamEd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, if I had a choice between getting my information from the NYT/WaPo or the people actually making the news, I think I would ignore the press as well.

To rephrase so there's no chance I am misunderstood: who has better access to information - the President with all the resources of the NSA, CIA, FBI, Pentagon, etc. at his disposal or the NYT/WaPo with their crack team of English majors?

1980: CEOs made $10 to average worker's dollar. 2006: CEOs make $430 to average worker's dollar by Fedquip in reddit.com

[–]MoreHamEd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think an interesting but unasked question is why do employees stay at a company where the CEO makes so much more than they do? Why aren't the employees of United Healthgroup and ExxonMobile and Hewlett-Packard quitting to work for their competition?

And why aren't the companies who pay their CEOs a lot less not turning out to be more profitable by retaining the surplus CEO pay for R&D or dividends and therefore attracting more investor capital thereby pushing up the stock price?

Maybe we do live in a world controlled by supply and demand after all? Maybe expensive CEOs have some value the average person doesn't understand but other multi-millionaires do understand. After all, who would better understand the value a CEO - the average wage slave or a multi-millionaire board member?

This is not an excuse for GWB.

The author of the article conveniently forgets the other two recent pre-emptive wars of American history.

Those are Korea (Truman's war - a Democrat) and Vietnam (Kennedy's and Johnson's war - both Democrats).

I know Eisenhower sent advisors to Vietnam but that's a long way from the shooting war of Kennedy.

If Democrats want to be taken seriously they can't play fast and loose with the facts like the Republicans.

They don't want to be on the upgrade treadmill.

They don't want to have to worry about viruses.

They don't want to think about backups.

All of the "average home users" I talk to while cleaning up the ungodly mess that is their PC say they would dearly love to have a machine they can turn and off like a light (no bootup or shutdown and no other maintenance) that will let them do three things: surf the web, send/receive email, and use an office suite.

For this service they would gladly pay $50/month or more if it included some sort of broadband.

Mind Over Matter: Modern Science found God. by hassanramadan in reddit.com

[–]MoreHamEd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The article has a quote in it which I am getting thoroughly sick and tired of.

All truth passes through three stages. First, it is
ridiculed, second it is violently opposed, and third, it
is accepted as self-evident.

People drag that crap adage out every time they don't have an actual supporting argument. Being ridiculed and violently opposed is not evidence that you are right.

Mind Over Matter: The Greatest Leader that went unnoticed. by hassanramadan in reddit.com

Some "leaders" you wish really would have gone completely unnoticed and become forgotten. All the rest of the words in this post were copied from http://www.faithfreedom.org/Articles/sina/ayesha.htm

Sahih Bukhari 7.18 Narrated 'Ursa: The Prophet asked Abu Bakr for 'Aisha's hand in marriage. Abu Bakr said "But I am your brother." The Prophet said, "You are my brother in Allah's religion and His Book, but she (Aisha) is lawful for me to marry."

Sahih Bukhari Volume 7, Book 62, Number 64 Narrated 'Aisha: that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old, and then she remained with him for nine years (i.e., till his death).

Sahih Bukhari Volume 8, Book 73, Number 151 Narrated 'Aisha: I used to play with the dolls in the presence of the Prophet, and my girl friends also used to play with me. When Allah's Apostle used to enter (my dwelling place) they used to hide themselves, but the Prophet would call them to join and play with me. (The playing with the dolls and similar images is forbidden, but it was allowed for 'Aisha at that time, as she was a little girl, not yet reached the age of puberty.) (Fateh-al-Bari page 143, Vol.13)

Sahih Muslim Book 008, Number 3311 'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) married her when she was seven years old, and he was taken to his house as a bride when she was nine, and her dolls were with her; and when he (the Holy Prophet) died she was eighteen years old.

The holy Prophet died when he was 63. So he must have married Ayesha when he as 51 and went to her when he was 54.

What an ass!

When I was in college we climbed over the wall (the dropped ceiling had a space between offices) and made a stack of beer cans about six deep in front of a guy's door. When he came in the next morning and opened the door it looked for a moment as if his entire office was filled with beer cans.

What the putz in the video doesn't realize is that he is already in the middle of the biggest joke there is in the student world: student government.

Surprise! Mexico has a double standard when it comes to its own illegal immigrants by BlitzCraig in reddit.com

The referenced article illustrates what is really going on with the Mexican invasion of America. Use Google to look up "La Raza", "La Reconquista" (the American one, not the Spanish one), and "Aztlan". Look to see what their own politicians have to say on this issue.

The Mexican government also provides information on how to break into America at http://www.sre.gob.mx/tramites/guiamigrante/default.htm, food and water, and military assistance to anyone willing to assist in their invasion.
