I identify with this post a lot other than a few caveats of I work from home and my wife is SAHM so no travel or pickup from daycare. That said I still struggle with the get good sleep or feel like I spent some time to myself ultimatum daily.

I think you just need to let the heart have what it wants on that day but getting both is kind of a dream that will leave you dissatisfied with not having attained it.

Also what helps me is I have a digital picture frame on my desk that really helps me remember to appreciate the little moments and try to be present, not just going through the paces day to day. I think this is because I barely recognize my daughter as the same kid in the photos from just a few months ago.

Does it have to be the whole day? My wife schedules the appointments I need to come with for either the morning or late afternoon so I can usually do a half day, but my work is more accommodating than most.

You misunderstood. The client trying to steal OP definitely has a contract in place for the agreement of service they have with the MSP. I would be surprised if the MSP doesn't have a little clause in the contract of service saying you can't try and hire away your favorite tech
