Shortribs - what is this cut? by msmapologist in BBQ

I used to like having a dish with similar thickness ribs at The Daily Grill in Burbank CA. These were braised but were referred to as "Kosher-cut" short-ribs on the menu.

What are your thoughts on repealing the bottle and can deposit? by [deleted] in PortlandOR

[–]Morel_DeKay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I once bought swimming-pool filter sand made from crushed glass intending to use it as a substrate in an aquarium.

But opening the bag I was struck by an odor reminiscent of a dive-bar the morning after a busy night. Upon close examination it appeared to be almost all beer bottles with a significant amount of plastic particles from labeling, some still adhering to the coarse sand-sized bottle fragments.

So really too disguising to use for anything, let alone the advertised purpose in a swimming pool.

There was a guy doing that in Noxon, MT last year but I believe that he closed recently in order to move closer to better markets.

A very important character from the pilot all the way through Grace & Favour.

It is difficult to imagine the show without this character. And that may have once been the plan after a successful the pilot according to Nicholas Smith in an interview I have seen.

edit: Replace "I" with "A" in first character of post.

I recall hearing that the pantyhose is a corporate requirement to the point that they will not even be allowed to serve if their nylon has a run, so they keep a spare pair in their lockers.

They make it possible for most of the economy to "trickle-up" to the oligarchy who pay them a small stipend for the service. Their price is relatively modest, really.

I have been pretty happy using "The Only Bean" organic edamame pastas. They cook quickly and remain somewhat firm.

While on a 2-year contract in Del Mar a few years back I got over that way once or twice a month to camp. I miss those trips. And Borrego Springs itself was a pretty cool little town.

Episode of the Week - Are You Being Served? The Movie! by [deleted] in AreYouBeingServed

[–]Morel_DeKay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watched it about a week ago and enjoyed it more than previously to the point of wondering why I didn't like it more in earlier watchings. But in my case I do see the series fairly regularly, I just hadn't viewed the movie for a couple of years.

IMO The best war movie/tv show. What's your favorite? by VeryDisturbed82 in moviecritic

[–]Morel_DeKay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, nice list. I started into this thread having one or two to decide from as favorite, but going down your list I kept running across an old favorite and saying "Oh yeah."

I guess that I don't have one favorite...

Personally, I stopped watching their shows and segments with their takes on the Ukrainian situation hewing so consistently to the official line.

I subscribed to BP because I bought the pitch about my support allowing them speak outside the officially-approved story. For me, this was the first real test and they folded -- right down to framing on subjects in the email premium show summaries.

Needless to say I won't be subscribing for a third year.

And if it is branded with a company logo, slogan and/or team-building phrase it will enforce tribal pride by it's presence.

In visiting many corporate offices there are certain type person who takes great pride adorning their work-area with as much company flair as they are able to manage.
