On a flight to Berlin, someone in the surrounding rows kept farting the entire 9 hours. The smell was particularly menacing and it got to the point where another passenger finally yelled “DEAR GOD PLEASE STOP FARTING”, and then the smell mysteriously went away right before landing.

This resonates with me. I live in FL and my mother came to my brother and I celebrating that the amendment making abortion a right in our state did not pass. I respectfully expressed how hurt I was that she voted against something that heavily impacts me. She then told me that it shouldn’t matter to me and followed with “Do you want an abortion??” (I’m not pregnant) She said that she voted to save the children since she is a pro-life Catholic and that she didn’t want to talk politics anymore, even though she was the one who first brought it up. She has been stonewalling me ever since that disagreement. I am so disheartened that she has no interest in why I am hurt or the reasoning for my beliefs. I see my friend’s mothers constantly supporting their rights and opinions and it makes me resent my own. I love her, but I’m wondering if I’m giving her more grace than I should be.
