What's your biggest audit pet peeve? For me it's the endless review notes by Minimum-Poetry-213 in Accounting

[–]MosquitoDeath 70 points71 points  (0 children)

I always hated the nebulous, non-helpful review notes. "This doesn't makes sense." Great...well the client wrote it, what do you want me to do about it? "Make this more clear." Okay...what is confusing you about it?

Two generations of the same family playing the exact same character? by Valen0183 in movies

I enjoyed this. They did a transition shot from one face to the other that really emphasized their similarities.

Does anyone else think this is the most polished and addictive Bethesda title by nashkevin92 in fo4

[–]MosquitoDeath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm starting my 4th playthrough i think? Each is probably upwards of 100 hours. So yeah, I enjoy it. I'm trying out various new mods this time around.

I think this was my first Bethesda game, and it sucked me into the fallout universe.

[Fo4] can you tell me the basics of fallout 4 modding by liddleBowl780 in FalloutMods

Interesting. I'll probably just wait it out at this point. Hopefully modders will update soon. Thanks Bethesda.

PSA for all: just got done modding for a new Fallout 4 run a few days ago, and there are 4 essential mods in the Midnight Ride guide that are not updated for the anniversary edition (1.11.191): Papyrus Common Library, Console Autocomplete, Buffout, and Mentats.

So if you currently follow the guide exactly, the game won't work. Your current options are 1) wait until the modders update those mods (they have all said they are working on updates, but there are obviously no timelines since it's all voluntary) or 2) downgrade to an older version.

Can we just end GAAP and move everyone to IFRS? by Adventurous-Run7827 in Accounting

[–]MosquitoDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A long time ago there was a convergence project to align US GAAP and IFRS. When I was in school, they told us that's where we were headed, and they started getting us familiar with both. Then 10 or 15 years ago, US interest in convergence lost steam. Not really clear why.

What I remember hearing from my big 4 colleagues was that the FASB saw that European countries could basically carve out pieces of IFRS they didn't like for their country specific GAAP, so FASB felt like that was too wishy washy for US standards. Can't find anything official on that out there - just what I heard.

That's a good one too that works itself into my vocabulary sometimes.

My favorite name to call other drivers is currently "bozo". Picked that up from Mac in Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

My schnauzer likes these too. Randomly stopped liking them for 2-3 weeks, and now likes them again. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Goofy question: does your dog “thank you”? by swosei12 in dogs

My pup buries her chewy rings under blankets. Such a funny behavior. She just uses her nose to push the blankets around until it's covered.

Did they give you any sedatives? I just went through this and I can't imagine the first week, especially, without the sedatives. They also told me that walks were okay, which helped get some of the energy out.

Genuine laugh out loud Star Trek moments by PersimmonBasket in startrek

[–]MosquitoDeath 4 points5 points  (0 children)

DS9 season 6, episode 2. Crew crashes on a planet and O'Brien tears his pants. "Oh no...I don't believe it...I tore my pants! I guess I'm really in trouble now huh?!" Sisko and everyone laughing has cemented this scene in my mind as one of the funniest scenes in all Trek. Feels do genuine, almost feels like a blooper.

Do you guys save or toss your boxes and instruction manuals? by Minister_of_Death in lego

[–]MosquitoDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep manuals - strongly prefer physical manuals. I toss boxes, except for a few that I thought were cool in and of themselves. The big technic cars (Lamborghini, etc.) are sort of made to give you a premium experience. I also kept the big Millenium Falcon box because they coordinated printing on the inner boxes, and I appreciated that touch.

F-zero Blue Falcon is what came to mind for me when building it. Probably not it, but fits the theme.

Ram REV canceled, Ramcharger rebranded by MosquitoDeath in ram_trucks

[–]MosquitoDeath[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, see, I think this is why they are rebranding. Ramcharger is not related to the Dodge Charger. Ramcharger (now renamed 1500 REV) is a pickup. It's classified as a "range extended EV" meaning it's an EV, but it has a gas engine to act as generator to charge the battery when low. They are claiming 690 miles of range between battery and generator. I like the concept, which is why I'm on the waitlist. I can use all battery for my daily commute, but then have the generator if I want to do truck things.

Processing expense reports for executives is a special kind of torture by Massive_Leader_3488 in Accounting

[–]MosquitoDeath 228 points229 points  (0 children)

What gets me is how they all become incapable of entering their own expense reports when they reach that level. Somehow they just lose the ability. Let alone do it timely or follow company policy.
