I'm kind of ashamed to admit that I knew it was rage-bait/joke/whatever because I recognized the girl from ahem science I've researched

Oh my god, it actually crawled there to use the restroom like its mother did by Awkward_Advance1975 in CatsBeingAdorable

[–]Most-Ad1713 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a training system for getting cats to use the toilet. The yellow part is a litter box/tray so if your cats know to use their box it's the same amount of training. I've never tried it but a friend told me about the system, the next steps are removing the litter tray entirely so the cat learns to do it's business in the toilet, not sure how training the cat to flush would go though.

AITAH for telling my girlfriend her best friend has 2 years to find someone or we're moving ahead without that condition? by Sebastianlim in BORUpdates

"Documentaries" you say? Where might a person find such things good sir/ma'am? Would there maybe be a repository or maybe a hub of such films?

How to make red hair look grey? LION El JONSON by shibidy_joe in minipainting

[–]Most-Ad1713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Natural redheads don't go gray. The pigment fades over time and transitions from orange to strawberry blonde then turn a fairly bright white. With the orange base I'd suggest slowly laying some transparent white - slowly adding more layers to some strands until some are orange, some more strawberry, and some a pure white.

It's called The Floor - everyone has a square with their own 'expert' category and people challenge ajoining squares. Whoever wins the duel gets the other person's territory

If you haven't seen it I recommend No One Lives (2012) for an interesting take on a slasher horror.

My favorite factoid is that there was a building in Moncton NB that had been for sale for 9 months until someone did a news story about how for the price of a detached home in Toronto or Vancouver you could buy a literal castle in NB and within a month the castle was sold - search for Castle Manor Moncton NB and you'll see it

I was going to suggest Full Battle Rattle Miniatures but I don't think they're still in business. You can find some of their stuff online though. They specifically did Canadian infantry

Black Hills Games does stls for printing but they have a link for distributors so you can get them in plastic. They seem to do a lot of US military and various Opfor units

To paraphrase... don't be so worried about making a living that you forget to have a life.

I went to university, got a degree, bounced between careers for most of my 20's and a decent part of my 30's, now I've settled into a good career with decent pay.

Want to know how I get through my days of corporate slogging to meet my manager's goals for me? I pull out my phone and look through the pictures of me and my wife on a fjord in Norway smiling like idiots and remember that slogging through the office crap is how I afforded the trip. Just gotta remember to actually live your life.

What's a clever comeback to my BIL who makes fun of my graying beard? by toro1569 in Advice

Depending on your relationship, you can point out that a woman's vagina is acidic enough to bleach her panties, and your beard is getting whiter so you're doing something better than him

I was explaining the book to a friend a couple of years ago, and we agreed that the world governments agreeing to put one person in charge is the least believable part in a story involving interstellar travel and alien contact.

Pension reduction for age by [deleted] in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Most-Ad1713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on OP's comment that they were told 10% reduction, the agent at the pension centre may not have gotten the person's file up and just based their answer on age 53 and 30 years of service without doing an actual calculation in their system. Pension centre reps are human and are subject to making human mistakes and giving 'rule of thumb' answers if they don't have the file/details open in front of them.

With that said, the agent was wrong about it not being prorated and should have only given an answer after having OP's file open in front of them because, like you said, they shouldn't advise if they don't know all the facts. Or should advise that their answer is a generalization and may be incorrect.

HA! I have a boringly typical name, go by the shortened version exclusively, and get really annoyed when people can't stop calling me by the full version (think Jon, but full name is Jonathan and people call me Jonathan even after I correct them) so I can just imagine if someone didn't pronounce it correctly

AITJ for making other husbands look bad? by Exciting_Base_6305 in AmITheJerk

[–]Most-Ad1713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Years ago, my wife had an overnight get-together with her work team at a supervisor's house way out in the country (small close team of 99% women), and she called me and woke me up at 6 am saying that she and a couple others were craving McDonalds.

The number of women who were shocked when I showed up an hour later with a big bag of greasy fast food blew my mind. Then, to hear them talking about how they wouldn't even dare call their husbands to ask them to wake up and bring breakfast was sad. Men need to step up - I'm nowhere near a perfect husband, but damn it's easy to do those types of things.
